A&D Finds: Belly Armor and Belly Band

Gadgets and technology are now parts of our lives. They are now a necessity. Even if we feel it, we are exposed to low level radiation. When I was pregnant both times, I was still working. I was a programmer so I was always in front of a computer! Eeeeep! I didn't know that there are products that can protect pregnant women from radiation like Belly Armor.

Good thing that Belly Armor and Belly Band are now available in the Philippines!
Belly Armor was born out of a mother's desire (Aileen Chen, co-founder of Belly Armor), to protect  her own child and inform others about the everyday radiation that surrounds us.
I got this in the mail two weeks ago. I gave this to my preggy achi but first I opened the box first to check out the blanket before giving it to my sister.
Belly Armor products are lined with RadiaShield® Fabric, a highly conductive silver textile with the same shielding properties as a 1/4-inch thick sheet of aluminum, and worn over the mother’s midsection to reduce exposure from everyday radiation. Belly Armor has been independently tested in FCC-certified and NVLAP-accredited labs to verify 99.9% shielding effectives across the range of everyday radiation.
This is what I was like for both my pregnancies! I was living in a condo during my first pregnancy and we didn't have any TV so I rely on my laptop for entertainment. Waah!
What I liked about it is it's soft. It's made of the highest quality of baby soft cotton!
While the Belly Band can be worn inside your shirt or dress.  The pleated design makes it easy to adjust coverage vertically and discreetly cover unzipped pants as your belly grows.

I'm glad to know that there are companies out there who are conscious about these kinds of things. This would be a great baby shower gift too, right? They can use it as receiving blanket when the baby is out.
Here's my 5-month preggy sister with the Belly Blanket. No fez because she looks fat daw. Heehee!

Sangobion's Go Love Life Campaign!

"In order to give love, we must begin loving ourselves first." This line may be gasgas na but it's one of the things I valued more when I became a mom. We all have different jobs, interests, hobbies but we, women, are natural nurturers.  Aminin natin, there are really days or times when we forget ourselves because we always put the needs of our family before ours. And that is why it's important for us to take care of ourselves first and foremost and that's where Sangobion  comes in.
A few weeks ago, I attended the launch of Sangobion's Go Love Life Campaign which reminds women that while we take care of others, we must not forget to take care of ourselves as well. When we are at our best selves, then we can lead a life we love.
Our host for the event was Kelly Misa, one of Sangobion's Brand Amabassadors. She took the Sangobion's 15-day Challenge and felt she can do more with the help of Sangobion.
Moms Cheska Garcia-Kramer and Jenni Epperson shared how Sangobion helps them. I can totally relate on how busy we moms are and how it is essential for us to be healthy for our family.

Sangobion contains Ferrous gluconate, an organic iron, which is absorbed better by the body to help fight the signs of iron deficiency. Each capsule is chocolate-scented that leaves no iron after-taste.  Sangobion® also contains essential vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C, Folic acid, Vitamin B12, Copper, and Manganese to build healthy red blood cells and immune system. It also contains sorbitol which acts as anti-constipating agent that generally occurs in iron supplementation.

Guest speaker was Dr. Sylvia Cornejo where she talked about the prevalence of anemia in our country. I didn;t know that! We each have our own "base level" to know if we have iron deficiency. If you think you are anemic or unsure, better see your doctor now and take a blood test!

I remember taking Sangobion when I was pregnant! It was also recommended that I take them also while breastfeeding.
Sources of Iron and Folic Acid. Sangobion helps fight signs of iron deficiency like fatigue, paleness, dizziness, and lack of focus and concentration which women experience when they neglect themselves.
And we all made the pledge to Go Love Life!

Sangobion is also partnering with select establishments to treat women to special pocket events including a shopping spree and a makeover session, which are expected to draw in more women to the cause. So watch out for those!
"As a Sangobion Woman, I promise to stay inspired!"
Thank you Sangobion!

My Maternity Photos - The Stork Studio

I'm sharing you today my maternity photos. Yez. But I'm still going to hide my fez or side view lang Hehe... Too shy. I'll just show you my belly and Y.

During the first time I had my maternity shoot, I had no idea what to expect. I didn't even prepare for it. Meaning no make-up, no hair fixing, BARE in short. I just went to the studio with my sister. I looked boring. Haha! BUT I'm happy I did it.

I had no monthly photos of my belly, I hate having my picture taken, these were the only ones I have.
When I got pregnant the second time, I told the BOS if I should have another maternity shoot. He said it would be unfair naman to R if I had photos when I was pregnant with Y and not with R. So I booked another session with Sofia :) This time the photos were so much better! I came prepared with outfits and photo ideas hihi! And this we also had a family photo!
I got my prints just last week. Can't wait to put them in picture frames and hang it in our room!

Check their FB Page and website for their rates, packages, and their portfolio!

From Pregnancy To Playground

Philips Avent is inviting us mom and expecting moms once again to another leg of From Pregnancy to Playground. Celebrate the stages of motherhood with your family this Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the Grand Atrium of Shangri-La Mall. The event will have three areas featuring the stages of motherhood: Baby Bump for pregnant moms, New Baby for moms with young children up to 18 months, and Growing Baby for mothers with toddlers.
Just like in the first leg in Trinoma, the Baby Bump area is where the exhibits will be held. A belly cast exhibit, the first in the Philippines, by birth artist Mimsy Sermonia-Jundis featuring mommy blogger Neva Santos of manilamommy.com, celebrity chef Barni Alejandro of The Sexy Chef, chess coach Chiara Datu, events planner Belle Camacho, birth photographer Polly Fong of Oh Happy Day Birth Photography, and Ayse Trifyllis, owner of Baby Bash. There's also the exhibit of Stanley Ong, renowned pregnancy portraitist where he captured each of the moms' unique experiences.

Expectant moms will have a chance to capture this most wonderful phase of their lives with pregnancy portraits by professional photographers, which Philips Avent will be offering for free during the event. If mom is not ready for her camera moment, then she can write a letter to her unborn baby at Mommy Mailbox in the comforts of a nursery room with soothing classical music. The letters will be published online in the Mommy Steps website.

The New Baby area will feature a breastfeeding lounge. Moms and their kids may also enjoy special bonding moments as they create wonderful bib art.

Lastly, there is the Growing Baby area which gives families a lot of opportunities for fun while being served fruit and vegetable smoothies from the juice bar. They can either make scrapbook pages or color Truman the rabbit. As a special treat, moms can get lovely makeovers from Goody's beauty experts.

There will also be a Mom's Best Choice Exhibit where Philips Avent products will be displayed throughout the day. Enjoy a 20% discount on regular items!

Making this event even more informative for moms are talks by childbirth educator Lin Fernando of Philippine Association for Childbirth Education, baby sign language instructor Jaymie Pizarro, breastfeeding consultant Dra. Pat Kho, and Philips Avent Brand Ambassador Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan.
I wish I could go to this one but unfortunately I can't because I'm out of the country but you can! So please do visit! This event promises to be a day filled with joy and learning as families celebrate the many facets of motherhood.

Below is the program details for that day!

Amanda Loving Life!

Last Saturday, I was invited to very a lovely and intimate lunch at Aria Cucina Italiana for mommy bloggers by Amanda Griffin Jacob. When I got the invite thru email, I literally blinked twice to see what I was actually seeing. Hehe! Of course I confirmed agad and told hubby about it. :p

I think first time I saw her was at the airport. She was still a VJ for Channel V back then. She's actually one of my favorite VJs and model! So imagine my excitement talaga when I got the invite!
When I arrived, Fleur was already there and of course Amanda. Who would have thought I'd be sitting in front of a super model in this lifetime?! OA ba? Haha! We got to chat a little bit about her pregnancy and her son Kieran and me telling her about my kids. She's so nice, pretty (inside and out), real and she's always smiling.
From sitting down, you wouldn't thought she's pregnant! She's 7.5 months along.
