Kitchen Attempts: Slow-Cooked Creamy Chicken ala Apples & Dumplings

I've been meaning to try this recipe since I saw this on Pinterest (follow me!) I don't really cook but I try to every now and then when I see recipes that are doable by me! If you don't cook like me or you don't know how to cook, this recipe is easy-peasy! As in! Just four ingredients and a lot of patience! Haha...
Original Recipe is found here. I tweaked the recipe a bit.
Slow-Cooked Creamy Chicken ala Apples & Dumplings
What you need:
4 chicken breast fillets
1 pack cream cheese
1 can cream of mushroom
1-2 tbsp Italian seasoning

1/2 cup water (optional)
Procedure: (I used a four quarts slow cooker) Start slow cooker, put the cream cheese, cream of mushroom and Italian seasoning in the crockpot. Let it sit for 30 - 40 minutes, when the cream cheese is soft, stir in water. (I found it too thick without water, so I put some in.) Add more water if you find it salty or thick. Put the chicken breast in with the mix. Cook for 4 - 6 hours or until chicken is cooked and tender. That's it!
Serve with hot rice or pasta! I had mine with brown rice. Yummy!

  1. Me and hubby likes creamy dishes too so this was perfect! Haha..
Maybe you can cook the chicken first? Hahaha. Cooking in a slow cooker needs patience hhaha!

  2. This does look yummy! I like creamy dishes :)
Hmm, I think I need to find a way to cook this without the long cooking time...I'm all for quick and easy, hahaha!
