Healthier Meals With Fisher Farms

Preparing and thinking what to prepare for lunch and dinner is such a task especially when Y (and BOS) is a picky eater. Fish is one of those that needs to be cooked in such a way that they will eat it without me hearing any complains. I like to eat fish but I don't like the ones that are "matinik". Hehe!

I do my groceries and go to the palengke every two weeks. But there are days when I don't feel like going to the palengke to buy our meats and veggies, I just buy it all in the grocery and when it comes to meat and fish, I only buy the trusted brands and I recently added a new brand to my list, Fisher Farms.
Fisher Farms is the leading aquaculture food processor in the Philippines. They supply the widest range of premium quality fresh, frozen, value-added, and completely processed seafood products to groceries, restaurants, disributors and hotels all over the world. They grow most of their milkfish in the pristine waters of Pangasinan. Milkfish grown in salt water have sweeter, more flavorful, firmer and cleaner flesh than grown in ponds. Fisher Farms control the diet of its catch and just use the right amount of feeds therefore there's no excess to pollute the environmet. To date, Fisher Farms has the largest number of sea fish cages in the Philppines.

People from Fisher Farms were so generous to send us their products for us to try. I didn't have to buy our fish stash for 2 weeks! Thank you so much!!!
I immediately had the kids try the Fish Nuggets. Y loves chicken nuggets but we don't really serve this often. Fish is a great alternative and the kids loved it. Didn't get to snap a photo though but here's a product photo. THey also have Fish Patties!
Fish Nuggets come in 12 pieces fer pack and retails for Php67.00 only!

Since my kids and BOS also love hot dogs, making them try Fisher Farms Fish Hungarian Sausage and Franfurters is easy peasy. BOS asked if it's really fish because it doesn't have that "malansa" taste while the kids ate them happily!
We always cook our hot dogs in the oven toaster. Less oil! This is the Fish Frankfurters, 12 pieces in 1 ack, retails for Php393.00. While the Fish Hungarian, 4 pieces per pack, retails for Php112.00.

My favorite is the Bangus Lemon Butter! It's easy to prepare as it's already cooked. No need to defrost, just put in the microwave. This is perfect for quick meals and for days when you're lazy to cook. And it's super yummy! I loved the lemon butter sauce that comes with it. It can serve 2-4 people.
This is so good with rice!  This one retails for Php257.00

The next one that I tried was the  Roasted Garlic Milkfish Loins. The kids also got to try this one. This is my next favorite!
Pair it with your favorite veggies!  There's 4 pieces in pack for this one and retails for Php140.00

And last but not the least, is the Smoked Deboned Milkfish. I'm not really a fan of smoked fish of any kind but I wanted to give myself another change to try it again.
It's good with suka!  Fisher Farms uses virgin Beechwood chips for their smoked products.
It also comes in Baby Milkfish which I think is perfect for our house because yaya only cooks for one, me!

Fisher Farms also offers Marinated Bangus and Bangus Sisig which I would love to try!
I find my kids like to eat fish than other meats because it's easier for them to chew fish, which is why I'm happy that there's Fisher Farms so I can serve healthier meals for my family! Oh and must remember to put Bangus Sisig on my grocery list! Heehee!

Fisher Farms is available in S&R, Rustan's, Robinsons, Landmark,  SM Supermarket, South Supermarket, Unimart and other leading supermarkets out there!

- Begin to evaluate their business models against some innovation criteria

It's going to be a fun learning weekend!

A&D's Plato-platuhan Collection

I don't know where or how my love (or addiction) for plates started. But I know I got it from my mom who likes to buy mugs and sometimes plates (mostly Sanrio characters. Haha!). My younger sister who lives in the province now also shares the same hobby! And she buys her plates mostly from Uniwide. That's our secret store. Now you know! And I will make kwento pa where to buy nice plates other than Uniwide.

First, let's start with Uniwide. Uniwide has the widest selection of affordable plates, bowls, and etc. You can even buy plates by the kilo! I know some of my friends buy their Christmas decors here. Mostly are imported and mostly stuff that didn't pass QA or has a factory defect. When you're lucky, you can buy Crate and Barrel, Martha Stewart items at really low low price. Super duper steal talaga! I even know some shops buy their things here and sell them at their online shops at a higher price. A tea place in Fort also uses Uniwide plates. Heehee! The one I go to is the one in Coastal Road but I want to explore other Uniwides kasi iba iba daw ang laman! Field trip? Maloloka si BOS!
Glass Cream Container where I put milk
Yin Yang bowl - this was super cheap, parang Php29 lang!
Robot Plates as R's giveaway plates for just Php19 each!
All plates are from Uniwide. I think these plates cost Php250 for all, maybe less pa!
Tea Set for Php29 or Php39 lang!
Another store I like to visit and window shop is Gourdo's. You know you're a mom when dinnerware and kitchenware makes you happy. Last Christmas, I was able to buy chic small plates and bowls on sale! I first saw it in one of my friend's IG feed and I knew I had to get it!
There's also green, yellow, aqua blue and brown!
I think it's still available in stores now and you can also buy online!
Japan Home Center and Daiso also have nice plates. Chamba chamba yan. Different branches have different stocks kasi. For Php85 or Php88 only! This was where I bought my very first plates when I was living in a condo pa. Most of my kitchen utensils ata were bought from there!
Oriental Plate from Japan Home
Single serve pot where I used to cook my version of steamed egg!

If your frequent Binondo, most groceries there in the kitchenware section also sells bowls and plates. And this one of the places where I found this plate below.
Php99 for this salad/pasta plate
My current "love" now is blue/white plates. Sometimes green, grey or anything in those shades with an Asian theme/feel. And Kazumi Artisanwares (@kazumi_artisanwares) ignited that addiction! Jean Naval is the woman to blame for my addiction and behind this genius IG shop. Her collection usually comes in 1 set or a few pieces only kaya talagang unahan mag "MINE". And you are a suki of hers, you already know that it's really hard to get the nicest pieces pag hindi ka nakatutok and your internet is not fast. Agree?
Notice the teme?
I have to say she has the nicest pieces of all the IG shop that sells plates/bowls. She takes the nicest photos too! Price ranges from Php180 and up. Most of my collection is from her. Trusted seller of many, I can assure you of that.

Another IG shop that I've bought from is It's Tea Time Ph (@itsteatime_ph) which is based in Tuguegarao City! Ang layoooo diba? But she has nice items din kasi. She always post at 10pm. One of the plates I bought from her has a chip, I told her about it and she was nice naman to offer a refund on my next purchase.
This is reserved for me!
My cute saucer that has a chip. :(
More and more IG shops are sprouting here and there but I haven't bought fro, any of them pa. Make sure to ask of they're brand new or pre-loved na. Another secret I'll share is, check out Japanese surplus shops near you. Most probably meron yan nice plates, not sure lang if they're new or not. And it is up to you na if you are ok to use pre-loved plates.

@pepperpottscorner - Functional and decorative stoneware, ceramic and more from Japan.
@anygoodstuff Teacups and Beyond
This is a new discovery. If you like anything blue and white, this is the shop to go, @the_crockery_den

With all the plates I've bought, most of them are still in their boxes or are kept in the cabinet. I don't know why but I don't want to use them yet. My next agenda is to find them a home. Malapit ng magalit si BOS. Bili daw ako ng bili heehee! So I am now looking at Pinterest for inspirations. Will post in a separate blog entry!

Do you also have a plato-platuhan collection? Or a tea set collection? Some of the friends I made in IG collects tea sets. Care to share? I wanna see!!!

Back To The Daily Grind!

No, I'm not back to work.

Y started school last week which means I'm back to waking up early. Like 5:45am early! My body is not used to waking up early anymore after a year of being a stay at home mom. Every morning (well, it's only been three days haha!) is a struggle. I wake up, get everything ready for Y (uniform, breakfast, baon) and get her ready! We have about 30-45 minutes to do everything before we leave the house so we can a parking slot near the school! So this is the life of a pre-school momma! I am writing this as I wait for her dismissal. Better be productive right?

So far, we're good in school. Ang hirap lang niya gisingin (nagmana sa tatay!). She didn't cry on her first day. Ako ang umiyak! She is still adjusting to her new environment, classmates and teachers. I stayed outside her classroom during her first 2 days, observing how she is in the classroom. She follows her teachers but I think she gets bored along the way and doesn't listen haha! I guess that's normal?
Plastic cover assignment!
I am looking forward to this new journey of ours. Sabi ko nga sa isang co-parent, we're also going back to school! Shucks. We're all anxiously looking forward (or scared?) when it's time for us to teach and tutor them Chinese subjects. We're also making a conscious effort to teach the kids how to speak in Fukien. I promise not to be a Tiger mom and apply what I've learned from Coach Pia from all the #BetterMe sessions I've attended. Good luck to us! And please grant me all the patience I need in this journey.

I am embracing this new adjustment to our lives! In 2 years, it will be R's turn naman. Waahhhhh! Time, please slow down naman! Hingal na hingal na ako kakahabol. Heehee! For now, I'm happy that Y likes school. Sana hindi mawala ang love niya for school.

And on that note, I am officially a pre-school momma!

A&D Eats: BOS Experience at Bag O' Shrimps, Tuscany McKinley Hill

BOS and I love seafood, well him more than me. But nothing really beats a good seafood fare! I remember BOS would always order shrimps whenever we go on dates before!   Well, here's one date place I think the BOS would love!

Some of us SoMoms had lunch at Bag O' Shrimps in Tuscany McKinley Hill about two weeks ago.
Bag O’ Shrimps anchored itself in Manila with the passionate steerage of couple-owners, Jandrew & Princess Pastoril. Princess, who had spent time in L.A. could not pass the chance to bring a taste of the West back home. After a ton of tedious research, taste-testing – and a few pounds, the couple opened this “Wharf-in-the-City” seafood-shack’s doors to the local community.
You can check their menu outside.
The place resembles a wharf as I imagined I'm eating by the sea! I love the nautical ambiance.
I love every detail in this resto!
We had our lunch at the mezzanine level. Princess ordered everything for us. She got us the best sellers and must-try's! I think the space is perfect for little get together with friends!
And now for some food porn!
Crab Bomb Stick. Jalapenos and Crabstick dipped in a creamy mayo sauce! A mix of spicy and salty. Yummy!
My brave boy gamely ate the Crab Bomb Stick but found it spicy when he's halfway into it. Haha!
Ayan na!
Fish Fingers which the kids loved!
Para healthy, Sweet Potato Fries!
(Photo from Go Jackie Go!)
Shrimp Popcorn  which Y liked. She said it's like chicken nuggets but orange. Hehe!
They also have asparagus sticks!
Bag O' Momma! Princess ordered two, one mild and the other spicy. I'm not much of a spicy food person so the mild one is perfect for me. Mapapa-kanin ka talaga! Loved the corn, shrimp, sausages, everything!
Before
And the aftermath! Heehee!
Obvious naman sa aftermath that we enjoyed our lunch at Bag O' Shrimps! I'm bringing BOS, MIL and SIL back to this place so they can have a taste and have the BOS experience!
Thank you Princess and Jandrew for having us!
