Hong Kong Series: Skate Shops!

This post is a total detour about motherhood, babies or about anything I write. But I'd like to share this with you. Share it with your friends, husbands, boyfriends who are going to HK!!! Sharing is caring like what Jenni Epperson says!

The little brother's current hobby is skating (Tama ba ang term?), skate board, long board... Gets? Being the good sister that I am (haha!), on the 3rd day, I accompanied him to skate shops he wanted to check out. I only got to check out the stores in Causeway Bay, there's also one in Tsim Sha Tsui, which is HKIT, I didn't go there with him cause I was busy shopping in H&M. Haha!

8five2 Shop

If you're familiar around the Causeway Bay area, 8five2 won't be hard to find. The shop is near World Trade Centre. The store is located in a building. I have no idea on skateboards but based on what I saw, they got a wide range of skate shoes! They have clothes, jeans, caps, skate boards to skate parts(?).

Well, shoti didn't get to buy any shoes because the biggest shoe size available in HK is 11. And he's a 12. So booo! But if you have normal shoe size, you're definitely in skate shoes heaven!

XGame
This store is harder to find (for me). We asked the owner of 8five2 how to find XGame, since there's a language barrier, it was a bit hard to understand what he was saying (both English and Cantonese), when he mentioned Lee Gardens, I had an idea where it is located. We found it naman agad. It's in the area of Lee Gardens and Times Square. It's along one of those uphill streets!

  2. thanks for this post, I visited 8five2 today and got a nice pair of shoes... but their selection has massively diminished since you took that photo... they seem to mostly sell hats and boards now. There's still a good selection, but I still haven't found anyone that sells the "Globe" or "DC" shoes I like :(
