Of Heart Murmurs, PPD Tests and X-rays

I've tweeted that the past week and this week has been and will be all about the kids' health. One of the reasons is written is this post.

We went back to the pedia last Saturday, she measured the PPD skin test, the reading says 8-9mm. It only means she tested positive. But we still have to get her chest x-ray. Hay I'm really dreading it. Pano ba ito? :(

Then when the pedia checked shoti, she heard the heart murmurs again. First heard during his 2nd month check-up. It was gone during the previous check-up but it was back again so she referred us to a pedia-cardiologist na. I'm having a slow heart-attack until I know what's going on. We're going to have him checked this week. I'm really hoping it's nothing serious but I'm also expecting the worst na din. :(

Writing all this down gave me a heavy heart.

Hoping for the best.

  1. Sis, un kapitbahay namin na little boy, I think 4 years old na sya had this murmur too. The doctor said parang may butas daw sa puso. If the medication failed daw, he must undergo an operation. But good news sis, nawala sya after the medication. So be positive. Everything will be okay because God is good.

Be strong Mommy Cai! My nephew was also diagnosed with a heart murmur during his second month check up but after constant follow ups by his pedia, this went away. His pedia said that it had something to do with the valve of the heart not maturing yet and it just needed time to become stronger. Now, my nephew is one year and four months and he is a super kulit little boy. He runs faster than my daughter!

  4. Hi Clarissa! Thanks for the encouraging words! My pedia said the same, but she still wants us to consult a pedia cardio. Really really hoping it's nothing!

  5. That means Y has TB? Does that mean the vaccine for TB did not work? :(

Hoping for the best, too, for both your kids. *Hugs*

  6. She may have the virus but not developed. It's in her system. We still have to have her chest x-ray to confirm. So negative or positive, we have to treat. :(

    Thank you Cris!
