Potty Pot Pot

Y's birthday gift from her Sa-e (my younger sister) came early! A potty for Y! It's never too early to potty train right? Her cousin G, at six months poo at his potty already!

We used it last Monday morning before changing her nappy after waking up. She sat down happily! She just peed lang. We do this every morning! :)

Here she is one afternoon, sitting pretty in her potty! Ayaw niya magpahawak. Ayaw din niya umalis. So cute, so kulit!

Why so serious?
To this day, she pooped three times pa lang using the potty but I hope she gets trained early. :)

Y's Birthday Series: The Theme

When I started planning Y's party, there was no theme in mind. I don't really want to settle for those character themes, it's overused already. (Sorry, if I get anyone offended. But this is my blog, I can say anything I want!) I read and read a lot of blogs on party planning to get ideas! At first I wanted a monkey or Curious George theme, but the BOS didn't want that so we brainstormed/conceptualized for more party themes, and we ended up with a Tiger Theme... because that's her Chinese zodiac. Creative? Not really haha!

I wasn't really set on the theme at first but the BOS really wanted the theme, so I had to go for it. He asked her friend to do a design study for the invitations, cupcake toppers, giveaway labels, photo booth layout, and thank you cards. (May ganung churva pala.. LOL!) Next, the color theme! The final colors where light blue, orange, brown, and white. Basta, I was all hesitant at first with the theme and colors, not until I saw the sample invitations and labels. They were so cute!!!! So it was a GO, GO, GO!

Tune in and check my blog for more updates on Y's Birthday Series!

Happy Birthday Y!

Before capping off this day, again.... Happy Birthday Y! It's been a year full of adventures, mishaps, and lots of stories!

One year of Y! And looking forward to more years of you! We love you! (Photo heavy!)
Thank you for making mommy and papa so very happy!

Snippets from Y's Party

A day after Y's party and I'm not feeling well.. headache and body ache. Post-party stress?!

Yesterday was a tiring but fun day. It was Y's Christening and Birthday party in one! She cried almost all the time in the church. Maybe because of the closed space and unfamiliar faces (her ninongs and ninangs). But at the party, she was fine. Happy and giddy!

I don't have the "official pictures" yet. Maybe in two to three days I'll be able to post some and blog about supplier's ratings. (I have a story to tell! Problems with the decorator at 11PM before the day of the party!)

Here are some snippets from Y's party!
Thank you to all the people who came! Family, friends, ninongs and ninangs! Y had a blast! :) More pictures to come! :D

Y opening her gifts last night (with help of mommy)!
What to open first?
Texting Ninang G for the very big gift!
Thank you again! :)

Playing Tent, Bath Time, And Trying a Car Seat!

Y's Sa-e gave her a play tent! She was afraid to go in at first, so I went in to show Y. I had to squeeze my fat ass inside haha! After that, she and G played (well, sort of) tent!
Y: Sara na natin ito.
G: Wag muna!
After all the playing that afternoon, G had to take his afternoon bath. I said, why not give Y bath at the same time too! They both fit in G's Flexibath! So cute! G was happily splashing water, while Y just looked and smiled. Nahiya ata sa pinsan! Haha!
So cute! And Y is older by six months yet G is bigger than Y haha! That's formula fed vs breastfed baby.

Am I Ready Yet?

It's officially September!
Three days to go before Y's birthday and baptismal party and five days before Y's officially turns 1!

Am I ready yet for Sunday?
Here's what I've done so far:
I've finish doing the party giveaways and game prizes. All I need are boxes so I can pack everything in.
The BOS is also done making the cupcake toppers.
I've paid our party planner for the decors and Les Sucreries for the cake.
I re-confirmed our booking with the face painter and with My Chocolate Heaven.
I sent out last minute invitations.

Things I still need to do:
I have to pick up the desserts for Sunday on Saturday morning.
Buy a scooper.
I have to call the restaurant to confirm the head count.
I have to make sure my orders of Y's outfit will arrive on Friday!
I have to beautify myself hahahaha!
Ready payments for balances!

There's few things I want: I hope it doesn't rain on Sunday, for things to go smoothly on Saturday. My OCness is starting to kick in.. haha!

Kitchen Attempts: Slow-Cooked Creamy Chicken ala Apples & Dumplings

I've been meaning to try this recipe since I saw this on Pinterest (follow me!) I don't really cook but I try to every now and then when I see recipes that are doable by me! If you don't cook like me or you don't know how to cook, this recipe is easy-peasy! As in! Just four ingredients and a lot of patience! Haha...
Original Recipe is found here. I tweaked the recipe a bit.
Slow-Cooked Creamy Chicken ala Apples & Dumplings
What you need:
4 chicken breast fillets
1 pack cream cheese
1 can cream of mushroom
1-2 tbsp Italian seasoning

1/2 cup water (optional)
Procedure: (I used a four quarts slow cooker) Start slow cooker, put the cream cheese, cream of mushroom and Italian seasoning in the crockpot. Let it sit for 30 - 40 minutes, when the cream cheese is soft, stir in water. (I found it too thick without water, so I put some in.) Add more water if you find it salty or thick. Put the chicken breast in with the mix. Cook for 4 - 6 hours or until chicken is cooked and tender. That's it!
Serve with hot rice or pasta! I had mine with brown rice. Yummy!
