There Are No Perfect Moms, Just Real Ones!

I've been MIA from my blog since November. It seems to be the case every year as I got busier with Paper Chic Studio and the holiday season with 4 stores to supply to. Adding to that, my helper left mi-October which means I had to do all the chores and find a new routine that will work for me so I can still study with the kids and do other things. I had to sacrifice a few things and those were this blog, my work-at-home job and cooking.

Four months later, I still struggle with everything and I haven't really found a routine or schedule that I can follow. I still find doing chores overwhelming, so much chores so little time! There are days where I don't have the time to sweep our floors, too lazy to wash the dishes and there are days where I don't take a bath because I'm just too tired. TRUE STORY! Haha! And this is as real as it gets! There are no perfect moms, just real moms! There's no a guide book on motherhood, we learn from our experiences, listen to our mom's advice and get support from our friends. One thing I've learned early (during my breastfeeding days)  is to trust myself and that trust gave me confidence and strength that I can face any challenges that will be thrown my way.

Being a parent in this and age can be tough and Baby Dove gets us! From the brand that is recommended by many dermatologists, comes its newest baby, Baby Dove, to provide real care for our little ones.
This came in the mail last Sunday and the first thing I did was opened each one of them and smelled it. Haha!

I've been using Dove for the longest time, I've tried all variants and my favorite is the original blue one. I'm so excited to see that they've come up with a line for babies! Dove is one the trusted brands of women out there and I love their Real Beauty campaign which speaks about confidence and now they are extending the same confidence to us moms by providing the best care for our baby's skin.

Baby Dove is a premium line of baby care products that goes beyond mildness and restores essential moisture. It currently has 2 variants: Rich Moisture and Sensitive Moisture. Here's what I got in my basket:
Baby Dove Rich Moisture Baby Bar - formulated with 1/4 moisture cream. It's hypoallergenic and and nourishing babybar.

Baby Dove Rich Moisture Hair to Toe Baby Wash is a tear-free and hypoallergenic baby wash and shampoo. I love multitasking products like this!
Baby Dove Rich Moisture Nourishing Baby Lotion is also hypoallergenic and a pH-neutral baby lotion.
Baby Dove Sensitive Moisture line is also hypoallergenic. It's gentle and fragrance-free! The Hair to Toe Wash replenishes essential for healthy-looking and hydrated skin and is compatible for eczema prone skin.

I cannot wait for my kids to try these new body washes and lotion! Other products available for Baby Dove (not in photo) are Rich Moisture Baby Shampoo, Rich Moisture wipes, Sensitive Moisture Baby Bar and Sensitive Moisture Baby Lotion.

The Healing Power of Vaseline

After giving birth the second time, I developed eczema. I didn't know what it was but I had red itchy patches on arms and legs. I can't help but scratch until it bled. I had lots of scars on my legs and arms and I couldn't wear dresses, skirts or shorts and I wore long sleeves the whole! It was that bad until I consulted a dermatologist and she said it was indeed eczema! She told me to always keep my skin moisturize! I have found products that worked well but I am always on the look out for more brands and products to add to my eczema arsenal. I never knew Vaseline Petroleum Jelly can be a big help for eczema flares so now I'm happy to say that Vaseline is now a part of my arsenal!

If you have eczema, you would know that summer is not our friend. Sweat aggrevates eczema that's why my kids and I take a bath twice a day because we get so sticky! But that can also lead to dry skin so I always have to put lotion too. The hot and humid climate can also turn our skin dry plus we are exposed to different factors like hot showers, pollution, air-conditioned rooms, the natural hydration and moisture is removed from our skin. The new Vaseline Lotion is now infused with the wonder ingredient that is Vaseline Jelly, replenishing the skin's moisture faster.
To showcase and prove the healing power of Vaseline, a live billboard was mounted along C5 last April 8-10 where real leaves were used! Half were covered with Vaseline Petroleum Jelly while the other half had none. After three days, the difference was visible! Check out the live billboard here: bit.ly/vaselineleafbillboard

Vaseline also sent a kit with the leaves so we can actually see and feel the difference. The leaves without Vaseline looks dry and about to wilt while the one with Vaseline is lustrous and moisturized! If Vaseline can keep a leaf shiny and moisturized, imagine what it could do to dry skin!
The leaves were enclosed in a box, that's why they appeared darker but when I touched them. It's really moisturized!
I'm excited to road test my new Vaseline army! If you want to know the condition of your skin, you can take the Dry Skin Test on http://www.vaseline.ph/skin-index-test!
Vaseline Petroleum Jelly is a one-pot wonder that can heal burns, rashes, cuts, bruises, chapped skin and more! I remember using this when I ran out diaper cream when Y was still a baby! It has really become a staple in every Filipino household.
I'm excited try this Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Restore which has micro-droplets of Vaseline Jelly that moisturizes deeply. It smells good, absorbs fast and I like that it's non greasy!
For a fairer skin, Vaseline's Healthy White Instant Fair lotion now also with micro-droplets of Vaseline Jelly, helps speed up the whitening process with its Optics System and Skin Illuminating Microreflectors.

There's no reason for not having a moisturized skin all year round! Grab a Vaseline at your nearest grocery and for your information, here's the SRP of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly Lotion:
100ml - Php69.30
200ml - Php126
400ml - Php225

My Preggy Essentials

During my first pregnancy, I used Palmer's Cocoa Butter Lotion, Body Shop's Cocoa Butter Body Butter and Avent Future Mother Moisturizing Light Oil (although this one made me itchy). I would use them everyday after bath. I barely had stretch marks after, I don't know if it's genes or because I was carried small or the products I used were effective. I already saw a few stretchmarks now.. I kept on scratching my belly kasi! :( Let's see how bad it is after I give birth!

This time, I still use Palmer's but the organic variant. My other preggy essentials: Aveeno Moisturizing Lotion (not in photo), Bio Oil, and J&J Baby Powder!

Now what I need is to find a post birth essentials!

What's your preggy and post birth essentials?
