A Happy Hot Happy Easter!

We skipped Easter festivities last year but this year we went full force and joined not one but two Easter events! Ambisyosa ang nanay!
We went to Blue Leaf Filipanas's Easter Carnival in the morning then to Greenbelt's Easter Party in the afternoon.

This was R's first Easter event and Y's second one but first time to join the Easter Egg Hunt so you see why I was an overachieving mother. Hehe!
It was my first time to go to THe Blue Leaf Filipinas and it was really huge, a great place to have your parties, weddings, and other special occasions.
Nice outdoor area for your garden party or for cocktails!
Y enjoyed the mini playground!
A mini merry-go-round all kids loved riding!
Two huge inflatables fit the place! There were also two smaller inflatables ones which R had a blast playing at!
Food Booths and Game Booths
Entertainment by Ateinza Brothers
This is where R had so much fun!

I have no photos of the egg hunting because I was carrying R while egg hunting. We also didn't bring a basket or anything to put the eggs in so mega panic when we were egg hunting! I only have photos of the eggs hahaha!
Yaya put all the egg she and Y got on the kids' backpack!

There was also a magic show. I was feeding Y lunch so no photos din heehee! The kids had so much fun at the  slides and inflatables! We stayed for awhile after eating because the little one won't leave the little inflatable!

We left Blue Leaf Filipinas around 1PM and off to Greenbelt we went! From an air conditioned place to a super hot outdoor event, it was a bit of torture, but when it's all about the kids, I don't complain!
Greenbelt Easter Party at Greenbelt 3 Park! There were fresh drinks, cupcakes and ice cream!
Cupcakes from Vanilla Cupcakery!
Baskin Robbins Ice Cream was perfect for hot afternoon!
There were also a few booths for arts and crafts!
There was bunny ears for everyone! And that's the egg we designed!

By 3PM, we went to Greenbelt 2 Park where the Eggziting Egg Hunt will happen. Y was super excited! The rules were get the same eggs as the color of your bucket. We had pink and green but since parents can't accompany the kids mean R can't join the hunt :( So it was only Y. It was her first time (read my other entry about this emotional moment for me here) but I'm super proud that she was able to follow the instructions but since purple is one of her favorite colors, she got purple eggs too haha!
Yay for Y!

We got so much candies now at home! Haha!Apparently, we won for the most crafty bunny but we already left kasi it was so hot I don't want to stay longer anymore. Hehe! We had a hot and fun Easter. We'll probably join again next year and hopefully pwede na si R!

Thank you Ayala Malls and Blue Leaf for having us!

On Holding Back and Letting Go

Y is going to pre-school na this June and I'm not ready yet! Naiiyak ako every time I think about it and now April is almost over and only two months to go before she officially becomes a pre-schooler! Oh my, milestone ito sa buhay ko! Nagpapaaral na ako!
My baby girl is no longer a baby :(

She's been to her soon-to-be school once during her interview. I've explained everything to her, that she should listen to her teacher, etc. etc. And she has been excited ever since! While I'm also excited for her, my heart is also breaking. My baby is no longer a baby :(

Last Sunday, during the Easter Egg Hunt in Greenbelt. I thought parents were allowed to be with the kids while they egg hunt, but noooo, parents are not allowed! Kahit gusto ko man sumama, I said to myself, this will be a test for me (emotionally) and also for Y if she can follow my instruction (because she was not listening to the host at English kasi.. heehee) I really almost not allow Y to join. As in. But my mind says otherwise.
My sweaty bunny!

I have to peel my hard protective shell . It was not easy! Naiiyak ako while writing this. Whyyyy! Heehee!  I know she'll be somehow be pushed by the bigger kids and maybe cry. Well, she was pushed but didn't cry. She was too happy to hunt eggs! She was skipping at natataranta while getting eggs, It was so cute! Sayang walang photo because I had to carry R!
When I saw her bucket filled with eggs, I was super happy! I'm so proud of my not so little girl, I wanna cry! Heehee! I've learned to loosen up for moments like this. I cannot protect my kids forever. Ayaw ko naman silang maging lampa noh. I was scared talaga to "let go" but these are little "teaching moments" for them, to learn to be independent, be around other kids, and other life skills. Easier said than done! But I'm getting there.

Y, please please don't grow up so fast!

A Practial Parent With Philips Avent

LI always thought parenting was going to be easy. Now with two kids, I am still a work-in-progress. It's hard specially when R is in his terrible twos. Nakakaloka!
There are days when this little kid is draining my energy. Our house always looks like a tornado passed through it. He likes to climb up and down tables, chairs, anything thta he can climb up to! He throws tantrums like there's no tomorrow, he throws things (not at us ha) playfully.
Super kulit little boy!

And having a super active toddler means we have to be careful with everything and make sure we have a safe home. From the tables, chairs down to his feeding bottles (because he likes to throw them after drinking milk!)
Our favorite Philips Avent Sippy Cup and the new Philips Avent Natural Feeding Bottle.

Nowadays, parents need to be practical. We used glass bottles with Y and I learned my lesson. Y broke one and the yaya also broke one or two bottles! Ouch! So when R ws starting to use feeding bottles when I went back to work, I made sure we only use BPA-Free Philips Avent bottles. I love the new shape and if you're using the old Philips Avent Duo breast pump, this bottle can fit your pump!

For now, no glass anything for both of my kids. Being practical doesn't necessarily mean we are not giving the best, we just want our kids to be safe.

What practical parent tips do you have? Share naman! :)
