See you all there!

A&D Eats: Sulyap Gallery, San Pablo City, Laguna

Last January, we had a little road trip to the south. My sister and I and our families went to Laguna to visit our parents.
Road trip!

We arrived around late afternoon And our kids had funny outfits that afternoon. Hehe!
G in his skimpy shorts and R in his  Risky Business outfitey. Hehehe!

It was pretty late to drive around Papa wanted us to have dinner at home so we had a hot pot night. The kids played at home and I had some throwback Thursday going on with old letters, cards and what nots from my elementary up until my college days.
Exercise bench turned into a slide!
Who remembers this?

Next day was our day of adventure!  But first a photo at our famous wall! Sayang little A wasn't able to come with us.
My cutiepies!
Cousins!

Pap took us around the city and to the famous Sampaloc Lake where we used to go to have dinner by the lake and had our driving lessons. Oh childhood memories!
View from top. Stopped her for some picture taking then went down by the lake for more picture taking!
My little boy wanted to join the dance practice of these students. Hehe!

Then we had some isaw and buco joice! I love slow days like these and bonding time with my family.
appetizer!
Nothings get's fresher than this!
Ang mura ng isaw!!! We had a pre-lunch appetizer near the lake before going to lunch. We had been having our vacation in Laguna since we were babies, we rarely get to when we started working. So when we went back this time, we wanted to eat at some place new. I did some research and told Pap we wanted to have lunch at Sulyap Gallery. Well, for my Papa who likes Chinese food and only Chinese food said locals don't eat at Sulyap daw. It's more of a tourist spot.
Basically, Sulyap Gallery is a museum/galery/cafe/bed and breakfast! It also has function halls for any type of occasion. Whew. It also says in their Facebook that it has a swimming pool.
I forgot to take photos inside the cafe. There's also tables upstairs but we chose to sit at the ground floor area.

We ordered most of their specialty, well we asked what are their recommendations are. While waiting for the food to arrive, which was kind of matagal din. We explored the place a bit.
Casa de Alitagtag. This ons one fo their Boutique hotels. It has 4 rooms.
Love charming places like this!

And food was served just in time we finished have photo ops and exploring the place!
Pako Salad. First time to try this and loved it!!!
Kare Kare!
Carbonara for the noodle loving Y.
Tulingan Pasta which we all liked.
Kulawong Talong with Grilled Pork. This was my favorite and also an original San Pablo recipe.
Grilled Bangus Belly!

We had a super filling lunch! I would have ordered coffee and dessert if we weren't in a hurry to leave. Thanks Papa and Mommy for the lunch! Next time, let's take the kids to Villa Escudero naman!

Built NY is Now in The Philippines!

Y is going to school this coming school year. Although nursery lang naman, I'm still excited to buy her school stuff, especially her lunchbox! And there's a new brand on the block, Built NY!
Built NY is a New York based company started by three friends. They wanted to build design-focused products that were innovative, functional and most importantly, durable. Built NY products are made of neoprene, the same maerial used for wetsuits.
Neoprene makes Built NY products stain resistant and machine washable (the magic word, as Jenny of My Mommyology said!) and gives them insulating properties up to 4 hours! They are also BPA, Lead and Latex Free! O diba?

Built NY has lunchboxes, diaper bags, accessories pouch, reusable bags, bibs, duffel bags, and more! Price is quite reasonable too! Perfect for budget moms like me!
And a few weeks ago, Oli of Quirks Marketing, the official distributor of Built NY hosted a lunch for the SoMoms for the launch of Built NY! We all oooh-ed and ahhh-ed at the different bags and lunchboxes. Totally a SoMoms approved brand!
It's really nice to see more and more brands are becoming available in Manila, giving us moms more options! Thank you again Oli for having us and for the gifts! Y loves the lunchbox but it's currently her "toy keeper"!

Let's Make A Difference On Yolanda-Affected Communities! Vote Na!

Philips launched a campaign last October 2013 challenging the people to make "meaningful innovations" that will help improve the quality of life for the Filipinos. It has been over three months since Typhoon Yolanda ravaged  the Visayas region and up until now lives of these typhoon victims aren't back to normal yet, power and network aren't totally restored, damaged infrastructures and more.

In response to the needs of these communities affected by Yolanda, Royal Philips in the Philippines decided to refocus its ‘Meaningful Innovations’ program in the country to define and deliver meaningful innovations to affected communities in the Visayas through idea generation and sharing.

And Last January, a group of Philips executives and representatives from its institutional partners, screened, deliberated, and shortlisted the top five (5) ideas from all contributed entries based on a set criteria.
Go to http://www.meaningfulinnovation.asia/philippines/gallery/ and vote on what you think will help the Yolanda survivors
the most!

To give you an overview, here are the top five (5) innovations proposed by Filipinos, to be chosen by Filipinos, to be built in collaboration with Philips (in no particular order):
· Mini bus clinics with PRISM (Problem Identification for Systematic Management) App by Paolo Fajardo and Johanna Morales, Metro Manila Old buses will be transformed into mini health clinics, and equipped with basic diagnostic equipment to assess an individual’s physical well-being. In addition, the mini-clinic will be equipped a psychological assessment tool/application, to allow a cursory check on a person’s state of mind, and identify possible solutions to the problem.

· Solar charger stations by Geoffrey Panganiban, OFW from Dubai
This idea advocates for the use of solar energy, to provide light to communities that have limited to zero access to electricity. Families will be given rechargeable batteries that are powerful enough to light up at least three light bulbs, and use the solar charging station as a means to recharge the batteries.

· Patient Healthcare Management System by Daniel Galang, Metro Manila
This is a secured data network where healthcare volunteers/professionals in typhoon-stricken areas can transmit their observations and/or diagnosis on a given patient to a pool of medical experts based in Metro Manila, who can provide further medical advice. This idea aims to address the need for accessible healthcare in areas that no longer have hospital or clinics.

· Night Light Project by Illac Diaz, Metro Manila
My Shelter Foundation aims to create an improved version of their solar night lamp by utilizing Philips’ lighting technology. In addition, they hope to train residents of typhoon-affected communities to develop these lamps, to provide them with an alternative and sustainable means of livelihood.

· Interactive Screen Booth by Marika Lacanilao, Metro Manila This unique edutainment health installation will provide commonly sought-for and up-to-date health information, which is especially useful for those who are suffering with health ailments post-Yolanda.

Public voting period will start on February 19 up to March 2. For more information on the “Innovation that Matters to You” program in the Philippines. Please visit www.meaningfulinnovation.asia/philippines or www.facebook.com/PhilipsPhilippines.

The technician gave me a pair of shades to wear, they also wear one themselves. They explain each procedure to me before doing it.
The procedure lasted around 15 minutes. It was painless which was super great!
Easy and painless.

I'd have to say that I would love do this if only I have time. I shall find time in the near future! To give you a more idea on how many sessions you would need.

Results can be observed immediately after the first treatment and are more noticeable usually after 4 to 6 sessions. As a guide
•Customers can see 10-15% textural improvement per session
•Results are much more significant usually from the 4th session and best at 6th. New collagen formation takes time to complete – 2 to 6 months on average. Treatment intervals should be 4 weeks for face treatments and 5-6 for body treatments.
