A&D Lifestyle: A11

Two weeks ago, after finally registering our business at DTI. (Yes, finally after a year! Woohoo!) Since we were in the area, we decided to check out A11.
A11 is a design and home gallery located in a compound along F.B. Harrison. It's spread along 3 houses. I thought it was only one house, A11 heehee. Oh well what do I know! Haha! At first, we couldn't find the house because I was looking for "A11", so a tip for those who wants to visit A11. Look at the photo below for the landmark.
The place was a bit overwhelming for me who is not an interior design enthusiast. I appreciate a good design. I love looking a nice furniture and kitchenware though. BOS is the opposite. He loves design, wood work, art and appreciates them the way I don't. But I still loved the place!
They only not sell furniture but also dinner wares. And I'm a sucker for plates, glasses, pots, etc. Ever since becoming a homemaker, I like buying home wares, dinner wares, kitchen appliances. Ahihi!
Looking for holiday gifts? You can also buy or combine your own and they'll put it ina a nice weaved box!
Plates as decor! Nice idea righ?
I am in love with these! As in!
I feel happy just by looking at this photo!
Jars and more jars!
Antique mason jars! Want one? It costs Php1000 each!

I didn't get to take photos of the other rooms and houses anymore. Each room has a different theme, different sets of furniture. Well, price of each piece is out of our budget but it's nice to appreciate designs that you don't normally see in the department stores. One thing that I want to have some day is the ghost chair that was displayed outside A11.
Visit A11 when you get the chance. I'm thining of having a family photo shoot here but the venue costs Php12,000. They thought it was for a prenup haha! Sabi ko no, family portrait lang. Hihi! Now I need to book a photographer and look for a nice cocktail dress at Zalora for me!

A11 is located on 2680 FB Harrison Street, Pasay City

An Extraordinary SoMom that is Patty!

I "met" Patty very long time ago online in a forum. We met once I think but lost touch and only got to reconnet again last year. When I learned she got breast cancer, I didn't know how to react to the news. But Patty put her game face on right after learning about her cancer.

Last week, Physiogel brought three extraordinary women, all breast cancer fighters to share story all while feeling and looking their best.
Some of the SoMoms went to the event to support Patty! We love you Patty! Hihi

The remarkable women are Patty B. Balquiedra, 44, a blogger, online entrepreneur and a mother of two; Alya B. Honasan, a veteran editor and writer for newspapers, magazines, and books. She is also a certified Iyengar yoga teacher, an avid scuba-diver, an occasional theater actor, and a doting mom to her dog Kikay; and Michee Cadhit, head of the customer service and international relations department of The Medical City and a mother of three.
Michee, Patty, and Alya
One common trait they have is they are fighters. When they learned they have cancer, they all went to fight mode. Each of them had different stories but they all looked at the bright the side and see cancer as one of the best thing that ever happened to them.

Watch this video! (Oh ang get tissue before you press play)

I admire their positivity and these women really are an inspiration!

As these three cancer fighters know, having dry skin after breast cancer radiation treatment is an inconvenient aftereffect. Patty, Alya and Michee suffer from dry, flaky, itchy and sunburn-like skin after each session.
I, myself, use Physiogel on my dry skin caused by my skin asthma. I also used Physiogel cleanser on my kids when they're were still a newborn.

Physiogel, however, helps them get relief from their discomfort. Alya swears by the efficiency of the product, moreso because it was endorsed by her personal surgeon. Michee, meanwhile, uses Physiogel to ease the scars and rashes caused by radiation. Last, Patty knew about the virtues of the product long before she underwent chemotherapy.
As part of its advocacy in supporting breast cancer patients, portion of the proceeds of the Physiogel sales for October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, will go to the I Can Serve Foundation.

Physiogel is the No. 1 dermatologist-prescribed moisturizer according to the Philippine Medical Data Index (PMDI MAT 2012) and is available in leading drugstores and supermarkets nationwide. It is also available in handy 10ml sachets. Ask your dermatologist and pediatrician about Physiogel.

Meaningful Innovation with Philips

Everyday we hear or read news about poverty, calamities, sickness or corruption and sometimes we wish there's a way for us to help. Sometimes a wild idea comes to us and we don't know how or will it ever become a reality. Well, your idea can become a reality with the help of Philips.

Philips has officially kicked off its “Innovations that Matter to You” campaign, which encourages people from all walks of life to submit ideas on how to address three of the most crucial problems of the country today – the need for livable cities; proper nutrition for families; and easier access to quality healthcare solutions

The Philips Innovations campaign initially kicked off in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Korea, but has been launched in the Philippines to adhere to the company’s goal of providing people with meaningful solutions that can ultimately improve the quality of their lives. Additionally, the Philips Innovations campaign in the Philippines seeks to leverage on technology as an important tool in making life better for everyone.

During the free mobile health check for seniors program the Philips Thailand team administered free checks to senior citizens, helping to lessen the impact of chronic diseases and reduce pressure on the healthcare system

Philips launched the first interactive mobile application about breast cancer in Indonesia last year. This 2013, the Philippines can be a part of this movement to bring health innovations to life.

Personally, I have lots of ideas I want to see come into life. I think that this is such a great campaign. We often think of something but don't have follow through. We dismiss that idea because we don't have the means or we think it's ridiculous and that's where Philips comes in.

The SoMoms had an opportunity to meet with Philips's Country Manager, Fabia Tetteroo-Bueno and Singapore GM Angela Oh and campaign manager Gela Isidro. They are very excited about this project and so are we!

Submission of ideas can be done on the Innovations campaign website www.meaningfulinnovation.asia/philippines. Ideas should be realistic, impactful, and should fall under one of the three idea categories given. A select panel of subject matter experts shall then shortlist six ideas that meets Philips’ objective of creative positive change. The individuals/organizations behind these six suggestions   will then undergo a mentorship workshop with some of the Philippines’ respected visionaries, to further fine-tune their ideas, and make them more actionable. Philips will then select one winning idea, and implement the chosen innovation in 2014.

As a company, Philips is focused on offering innovative products and services that help improve people’s health and well-being.  This objective is actively supported by its three sectors – Lighting, Consumer Lifestyle, and Healthcare.

And so if you have any idea or something you want to be innovated, submit your entries now! I'll be submitting my idea/s later! Oh and the winner not only gets his/her idea implemented, he/she gets to bring home a kabuhayan showcase!!! Ahihihi!

Thank you again Philips for having the SoMoms over!

A&D Eats: Thaipan

Last week after our Kindermusik class, we had lunch at this tucked away Thai restaurant in Quezon City, Thaipan.  Good to know that there are more Thai restaurants opening in the Metro for that Tom Yum and Chicken Curry fix!
I really loved the interior and ambiance of Thaipan. There's an al fresco area which is perfect for dinners and for drinks.
But since it was lunch when we went, it was a bit hot to dine outside so we had our lunch inside.
We have a few staples when dining in a Thai restaurant. We have our favorites and I'm looking for the best Tom Yum and Chicken Curry in town! And here's what we ordered (just thinking about it makes me hungry!) And sorry I forgot the names of the dishes because we were so hungry when we ordered!
Fried Crablets - tasty! Perfect for pulutan!
This is pork. Forgot the name! Eeep! But it was also yummy!
Green Chicken Curry - creamy and flavorful! One of the best curry!
Tom Yum - YUM! I had two bowls!
Bagoong Rice - achi's favorite.
Phad Thai
Pineapple Fried Rice - this was good but plain rice to go with the curry is better!
Thai Iced Tea - LOVE!

I had a satisfying lunch at Thaipan! Hubby was so envious hihi! I'm taking him there for some dinner or lunch date soon! I also got a lot of comments on my IG when I posted the photo of Thaipan. Go check them out!

Walnut Melbourne Philippines

I find it hard to look for comfy shoes for my kids. Y doesn't tell me when she feels uncomfortable with her shoes or if it's painful. Makikita ko na lang may paltos. That's why I don't settle for anything less especially when it comes to quality and comfort. I'm glad there are more children's shoe brands are coming out in the Philippine market.
We were introduced to Walnut Melbourne!

Walnut is one of the Australian brands that Lemon Myrtle has to offer. With a focus on children’s shoes, this up and coming brand gives a fashionable twist to a very well made and comfortable pair of both girls and boys shoes. Styles from ballerinas, to sandals, and sneakers are just an example of the range that it has to offer to children and their parent’s discerning eye.

An intimate afternoon merienda was held at mary Grace Cafe for the SoMoms and SoKids!
Walnut's line of shoes
There's so many styles to choose from and I like that the front part of the shoes is rubberized. Expeically with Y who walks paharap, the front part gets "pudpod" agad or gets torn.
See how it folds? No doubt these shoes are comfy!
Can you guess what did I get for Yukie?

Internationally you can find walnut in Australia in their more affluent department stores such as David Jones. While you can also find them in specialty children’s stores such as Shoes And Sox, Funky Kids, and Lou Lou Trends to name a few. Walnut is also available in international countries such as Hong Kong, and Singapore. Locally it is available in Rustan’s, Shoe-thing, and Baby land branches.

And of course, with the SoMoms, a mini event like this can turn into a mini shopping party! Prices range from Php1,795 - Php2,395
and size is from 24 to 36.
Here's Donya MFO with Xavi!

Thank you Christine for hosting this fun shopping party for us hihi! Will definitely buy one for my boy when he can fit into your smallest size hihi!
