A&D Eats: Quick Afternoon Date at Tamayaki

From time to time or at least once a week, I try to have a mom-daughter time with Y. Even justg going to the grocery or to the bank, I take her with me. Sometimes I also get to bring her to events.  Sort of exposing her na din because she not used to being surrounded by strangers or unfamiliar with certain place and people. I get to teach and show her different things she sees. She's at the stage where she asks a lot of questions.

It was the birthday of BOS and we were in the San Juan area. I was bugging BOS to get a massage for months na and since it was his birthday, I'll treat him na nga! So after dropping off the hubby, Y and I killed time in Tamayaki!

The ambience makes you feel like you're in a spaceship. Hihi.. It's because of the black interior I guess.
The first time I went there it was "Pay as you order" but the last time we went back, we can order then pay later when we're finished eating or before you leave. Since it was only me and Y, I ordered 2 kinds of takoyaki. Seasoned Octopus and Mozarella. And a large order of Tamayaki Milk Tea with brown rice crisp.
Milk Tea and Takoyaki - my kind of merienda

My date - who only ate the filling but not the crust. I had to eat the crust!
Their takoyaki balls are good but I wish the "crust" is soft just like the real takoyaki and not crunchy like the way they cook it.
I've gone back after my first visit. I still like their Takoyaki because the variety of fillings they offer. I just wish their crust is more tender. :)

A&D Eats: Mango Tree Bistro, Greenbelt 5

After spending Mother's Day with the SoMoms (yes Mother's Day pa ito, major major backlog!), we looked for a restaurant to have early dinner. We went back and fort from the strip of restaurants and ended up at Mango Tree.

BOS said, since it was my day and my favorite cuisine is Thai, we decided to try out Mango Tree. I was worried that there won't be any kid-friendly food for Y but the server made sure that it's not a problem.

And when I eat at Thai restaurants, I always order my favorite dishes. Heehee... But for that night, I ordered salad because we were waiting for BOS to finish his movie.
Pomelo Salad with Shrimp
The server suggested we get Phad Thai for Y. Since she doesn't like to eat meat (yes, she's some kinda vegetarian and a really picky eater), we got the plain one and I didn't mix the nuts with the noodles.
Serving was good for 2-3 pesons
Bagoong Rice which BOS always order
Green Chicken Curry - my favorite Thai dish but this was only so so
Thai Iced Tea which was good!
We also had Tom Yum soup which was quite good. No photo because I forgot! Ooops! For the price, range is Php250-Php400. It was higher than our usua budget for dinner outs but it was Mother's Day so pwede na din. :)

How's It Been Since I Resigned?

It's been a month and a half since I resigned. Feeling ko ang tagal tagal na. I haven't gone back to the office for my clearance! O diba? Can you spell B-U-S-Y? It's one reason why I don't blog as much. I'm still adjusting to this whole set up.

How do I feel? I've never been HAPPIER. I don't have Monday blues. I don't dread dressing up. I don't have to think about my baon or will I still get a parking spot outside for Php50 or do I have to spend Php130 for a whole day's parking at the basement. Am I going to be late again today? Or ano nanaman gagawin ko sa office today? Will I be able to debug and solve the error? No nothing! I get to stay at home with the kids. No alarm clocks. I work on my own time plus I get to be in PJs the whole day! No judging please!

While it's rewarding and nice feeling to be the boss of your own, I need some discipline in both business and personal aspect. I'm glad I attended this financial talk last Saturday which made me really think about a lot of things and also learned a few things on investments. Hindi pwede pasarap lang lagi!

One of my agenda is to revamp my blog's look. Make it look more "professional". I don't know who to go to for design but I'm already talking to a designer. Crossing my fingers! Samahan niyo ako ha!

Oh and another agenda is to blog about R's party! Hoping I get to do that next week... hmm. Sana! Plus I still have a few giveaways to run! Exciting diba??? Please do stay tuned for that!

Now I need to put little R to sleep! Ayaw matulog! The reason why I get to blog now but no photos hehe! Good night!!!

Flying Forward with Feiyue!

I was always a sneaker girl. I loved sneakers. I remember my mom would always made us wear sneakers or closed shoes in the summer even in the house. She has a theory that when you always wear shoes, it will stunt the growth of the feet. Makes sense ba?

My shoe purchases while on a trip abroad would always be sneakers over ballet flats or heels. I don't know why! I've amassed a little collection until I stopped buying after college and said hello to corporate shoes.

When I became a mom and had to run around my toddler, I wanted to buy a new pair of sneakers but I never got to buying one. Until recently, when the #Somoms were invited by Jaycee Dee to Feiyue Philippines concept store over at Sekai Center at Ortigas Ave cor Madison St to have a sneak peek its new collection!
Feiyue (pronounced as “Fêi-yué”) literally means “Flying Forward” in Chinese. This light and flexible sneaker was first manufactured in Shanghai in the 1920s and became known with everyone from martial artists, athletes and just about anyone who could walk for its undeniable comfort.

In 2006, a group of French sneaker enthusiasts took control over the brand and gave it a new beginning. This lightweight canvas shoe underwent a series of transformations with new materials, a focus on quality and a design aesthetic that combines its vintage charm with French and International influences.

Boy did we had a hard time choosing what sneakers to get! Feiyue has collaborated with different artist for their sneakers design.
One of the many collborations - Feiyue x Agnes B. - I liked this but too bad no more my size!
I've never felt this torn with sneakers! Ang daming styles and designs! With rows and rows of sneakers staring back at me, I had a hard time choosing.
High cut Feiyues. One of my choices!

Ang dami diba? Let me show you what I tried on!
Yeah my choices were boring but I like clean and white sneakers!

While I had a hard time choosing, Y immediately zeroed in on the pink sneakers. No thinking, no deciding, no questions! Feiyue Philippines also carries sneakers for toddlers to kids! I wanted Y to get a high cut one or at least something not in pink! But the little girl can't be fooled!

So cute diba?
Here's my little companion, waiting for her shoes!
Letting her choose what she likes
She chose this one and didn't want to take it off. Silly girl hehe!
I ended up getting the classic one. And I love it! So comfy! Wore it to the Glorietta Midnight Madness challenge! Have yet to road test this one on a trip abroad!

Happy 1st Birthday, R!

Grabe ang bilis! I still remember last year around this time, I (thought I) was having gas pains. My scheduled CS was not for another 4 days. When I called my OB, she immediately told me to go to the hospital. Good thing I did because I was in labor and 2cm dialated already! Gaaah!

And today he turns 1! He's our little bundle of joy. I never thought I could love another child until I gave birth to R. He's very much like his papa, serious and quiet. But he smiles and starts to laugh, oh how cute he is! Not that he's not cute when he's serious ha.
I'm glad that Y is no longer jealous of R. Of course they still fight over toys. They love each other to bits. R likes to wake up his achi whenever she's asleep. Hihi.
Today also marks our first year of exclusively breastfeeding! Yay! This is both a milestone for me and R. No formula milk! Yipeee! I plan to continue breastfeed but will also transition R to fresh milk.
We had a party last Sunday for R. I hope I find the time to blog about it because I had so much fun planning!

We're spending the day at a mall. Maybe go to the toy store and treat the kids to toys and eat good food in celebration of R's birthday! Tomorrow, we'll spend it in Fun Farm!

Happy Birthday Shoti! Mwahhhhhh!
