Happy Easter!

Aria Cucina Italiana: Make Your Own Pizza (MYOP)!

About two weeks ago, I was invited to a Make Your Own Pizza Party at Aria Cucina Italiana! I took the kids with me, well, this activity is really for Y so I was really excited! I was psyching her out in the car on our way to Aria. :)

This wasn't our first time to dine at Aria. My first time was in Boracay and I remembered I loved the food! Nowadays, kid-friendly restaurants are important to me. It's hard to keep a toddler still when she's bored and antsy! I'm happy that Aria now offers a menu especially for kids!

While waiting for the program to start, Y busied herself with coloring her place mat. She was initially fussy but she warmed up eventually. Whew!
We also got to try their Fish and Chips while waiting
Our host that afternoon was Bianca Araneta-Elizalde. Here she is with the CheFranchesco  giving us a demo and explaining how to put the toppings and not to crowd them.

After which the kids and kids at heart get to make their own pizza! I had to help Y put the toppings on her pizza. She was eating the ham and cheese while putting them on the pizza haha! And after we were done making our pizza, it was taken to brick oven!
Et voila! Yummy Hawaiian pizza for us to share! Well, I ate most of it. But she enjoyed doing it! She wants to make one more pa nga! Maybe next time when we dine again in Aria! :)
My Happy Girl!

Wink Laser and Wax Studio

Ok, time for some confession. And a bit TMI. Ever since I gave birth to R and been busy with motherhood, my day job and Paper Chic Studio, my time for self-grooming has become limited. I, sometimes would forget to pluck my kili-kili only to realize when I'm already wearing a sleeveless shirt or when I'm already at a party! Que Horror!

I've been wanting to have my underarms lasered but I'm always wary. I don't know which is the best place to have it done... Until Wink!
Wink is the newest laser and wax studio in Bonifacio High Street! Me along with a few of the SoMoms were invited by Liz of Project Vanity to have an afternoon chat with the owner of Wink, Holly Chang. Can I just say that she's so pretty and her skin is luminous!!! Peg!
Anyways, I love intimate events such as this one because we get to talk and laugh without being awkward. Hihi! With so many salons and waxing places offering the same services, I asked what makes Wink different? Wink takes pride on their policy on hygiene as well as their after care.
Tita K of Live Love Lolz and SoMom Tin of MFO
At Wink, they never reuse towels, sheets, or spatulas. Their technicians always don masks and a glove. Guests get their own set of waxing implements and they sanitize and sterilize like crazy in between sessions which is good to know!!!
Frances of Topaz Mommy hamming it up :)

Check out the interior of their store! Super nice! You won't feel you're in a lab! You'll be super comfortable once you're inside.
I love the ceiling!
For that afternoon, I got to try their underarm waxing which I haven't tried ever before. So it was my first time! This was my room.
Before we started our session, my technician had me check list of my allergies, if any. She explained and showed me photos of common skin sensitivities and the after care, which I really appreciate. None of the waxing places I've been to are as extensive as this.
This was given to me which you should READ after! Very important!
I had a great first time waxing experience. She was fast and thorough. I also had my knuckle hairs (?) on my fingers and toes waxed off! :)

My next agenda (agenda talaga?!), is to get my underarm hairs zapped! One of the reasons why I haven't done it is I was afraid of the rate. #barat I was surprised to see that Wink's price is pocket-friendly and you can pay via credit card on installment basis 0% pa!

And I always thought it's painful! But no! Here's more info!
Wink also carries Soak Swimwear and Snoe Products, which I want to try!!!

Yes, I'm Still Here!

Hello World!

Yes I'm still here. I've been so busy with... well everything!

First, I got no yaya. The previous yaya left about 4 weeks ago. And because there's no replacement, I had to take a leave from work and take care of the kids. The new yaya was here for 2 weeks then I let her go kasi stress drilon siya!!!

Now I have a new yaya which we got from an agency. I hope she sticks. I like her so far but hindi naman lalabas mga sungay nyan habang bago pa sila. Diba?

Work wise... Well, my boss understands which is great. I'll be on leave for 1 month na next week. O diba? AWOL na ata yun. Hihi! But yun nga, my boss is very understanding.

We're also busy at Paper Chic Studio. As much as I want to do everything as planned, wala. :p We're preparing for Expo Mom. Y's room literally became our stock room. Buti na lang we're co-sleeping (attachment parenting rocks!!!). So our house is now home/stock room/office. I need an office table! Dahan dahan tayo dyan! Please visit our booth ha!

Y's enjoying me being home all the time. I'm enjoying it too. Pero wala akong time management! Oh well papel.

I'm rambling na. Sana in the next few days and during the break, maka-blog na ako! :)

Happy Weekend!

A&D Eats: Brunch at Early Bird Breakfast Club

About 2 months ago, we tried the newly opened Early Bird Breakfast Club. I love breakfast food, it's my comfort food! It's located on what used to be Pier One in Fort Strip!
We got there around 11PM and the place is almost full! We were seated at the mezzanine area na because the main area is full na.
Love the chevron wall!
Chevron floor! Ack!
And now on with the food!
Adobo Flakes - it was ok. Serving was big. We didn't get to finish this.
Arroz Caldo for the kids - a bit salty
Vigan Longganisa for the BOS - which was also so-so
Beef Tapa - probably the most ok food for that morning!
Bacon something - I forgot the name. Would have been really good if the bacon is crispy!
The place and ambiance is nice and homey. I hope the food improves though. Would love to go back and try more of their food!

Here's Y and G posing after our ho-hum brunch.

Expo Mom 2013: Celebrating #Momtuition + A Giveaway!

We all have heard the saying/expression "Moms know best!". I've heard my mom said it over and over again during my teenage years.  I didn't believe it until I became a mom!

And once we become moms, we gain a superpower! I'm sure it's not only me who get that indescribable feeling when there's something wrong with our kids. We don't know what exactly it is but often than not, we moms are correct.

This year, Expo Mom is celebrating #Momtuition!
“Today’s moms have access to so many sources of information that we sometimes forget that we are gifted with a very powerful sens —our instinct. They say all women are born with such an instinct, but I believe that moms have a heightened sense since we give so much care and nurturing love to our family and children and are so connected to them. We want to remind moms about this “superpower” and this is why we chose ‘mothers’ instinct’ or we call it MOMTUITION as our theme for this year’s EXPO MOM,” says Janice Villanueva, founder of Mommy Mundo, organizers of Expo Mom, the definitive source of parenting-oriented trends, products, and information.

Sharing with you is this video of Kris and Jenny of SoMoms talking about #Momtuition!
At Expo Mom 2013, moms will be reminded to trust their inner voice, listen to their guts, and realize ways of tuning in to this most precious gift as a way of celebrating it! It is the perfect venue for moms to connect with other moms about their intuitive experiences as Expo Mom 2013 will gather influencers to give testimony to the power of mom intuition. Experts will teach moms to develop this gift and take full advantage of it.

At Expo Mom’s trademark mompreneur market, a wide range of products and services, including the latest from fave mom and baby brands, will bring out the best in mommies. Mompreneur booths such as Nursing Mom, Mama Baby Love, Momtrepreneur Shop, Tot Couture, Indigo Baby and Nurture Nook. Expo Mom 2013 will also showcase of host of informative and entertaining workshops and activities. Created for moms and moms-to-be, Expo Mom also provides the necessary mom amenities such as a breastfeeding lounge, a diaper changing area, and a play area for young kids.

On April 6 and 7 (Saturday & Sunday), visit Expo Mom 2013 at the Rockwell Tent, and find out why moms know best! Gates open at 10am. There is a minimal entrance fee of P30 per person, 100% of registration fees go to the MomShare outreach projects. I'm a PLAY Advocate: Educating Oneself With Pneumococcal Disease!

Growing up with an OC mom, I remember we would always given vaccines by our pedia on our regular check-ups. I think I've got complete vaccines plus boosters. When I became a mom, I follow our pedia's schedule with Y and R's vaccines just like my mom. I never really asked or wonder if they are effective, their advantages and if there are any side effects.

Last February 23, twenty five of the Philippine's top social media moms and their children came together to understand a trending topic in the field of medicine. Pneumococcal Disease or PD may sound like a long and complicated term, but learning was made fun through an activity called Protection, Love, and Activities for Young Kids or P.L.A.Y.
P.L.A.Y. is a disease awareness raising awareness campaign by Mommy Mundo, the country's most extensive portal of mom and family-focused resources. For many years, Mommy Mundo has actively promoted an advocacy on vaccination as the nest defense against diseases.
Y enjoying!
Dr. Carmina De Los Reyes was there to explain about the diseases as well as other concerns of parents who were present during the talk. Here are some helpful facts for us moms to remember!

Each year, roughly a million children die from PDs. This disease is considered as the #1 killer of children less than 5 years old worldwide! PDs include invasive ones also known as IPD such as meningitis, sepsis, bacteremia, and pneumonia and other common diseases such as acute otitis media (middle ear infection).

And for us to learn more about PDs, games were played by moms and kids! And I was with Team Pneumoniacs!
My very intense team! Haha! See their faces? Hihi

The afternoon ended, with a pledge to P.L.A.Y., a promise of all the participants to protect their health and keep on learning and with a full head of knowledge.
