A&D Eats: Sariwon Korean Barbeque

When me and my college barkada do a meet up, it's usually over food. Who doesn't love to eat??? Even during our college days, we (the girls) would always eat at different restaurants during lunch or merienda before we took our departmental exams later at night.
In the car, on our way
Two Sundays ago, we had at lunch at Sariwon Korean Barbeque. (Thanks to the BOS's GCs!) We had to wait for a few minutes because it was lunch time and it was full! A very good sign that the reviews I read are indeed true!

But first! Here's something about Sariwon:

Sariwon has become synonymous with serving legendary Bulgogi since its beginnings in 1938. The restaurant was established by grandmother Mrs. Bun-Im Koo from the town of Sariwon in North Korea, who developed an extraordinary broth recipe for Korean traditional beef barbecue or Bulgogi. Made from 12 different kinds of fruits and vegetables and prepared in complete disregard of sugar, it was created with love for her diabetic husband.
Mrs. Koo opened her first restaurant with twenty seats serving friends and neighbors. More than seventy years and two generations later, Sariwon has grown into a powerful, multi-awarded presence in South Korea with its main branch having over 500 square meters and 350 seats. Awarded "Best Korean Restaurant" by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Sariwon's perennial popularity and devoted following are a tribute to Mrs. Koo revolutionizing the traditional art of Bulgogi. Aside from the best-selling bulgogi, Sariwon is also famed for its galbi or barbecued beef short ribs, with the New York Times proclaiming it as “the most tender and succulent in Seoul.”
We were seated in two separate tables but it doesn't feel like it because of the dividers. Feels like we were in a private room.

So on with the food! They served us mini plates of appetizers as any Korean restaurant would serve.
I had their house blend ice tea
The BOS ordered this.. Tofu something. Sorry can't remember the name! Siya kasi nagorder! Haha
Spicy Tofu
Dak Galbi which came with a special sauce and lettuce that you'll use to wrap the chicken. Yummy! The chicken was delicately marinated overnight with their special sauce!
Japchae. It was good. (serving was small, not really worth the price)
Korean Hot Pot, goof for 4-5 people
And the star! Galbi! Super duper good! Meat was tender and juicy. This was grilled in front of us.

Price is a bit on the higher side. But food was great! Friends and my sister went a week after because of our IG photos! Hihi!
Nice seeing you guys!

Hello Kitty Christmas Village

Last January 5 (day before we took Y to the ER), after going to the pedia to have the kids's monthly check-up, we traveled (traveled talaga?) to SM The Block to check out Hello Kitty Village. It was the second to the last day so the BOS was persistent in taking the little one to see one of her favorite characters, Hello Kitty!

I really don't like going to this area because of Edsa, traffic, and plus the mall gets crowded! Gaah. But for our little one, ok lang! Plus I'm also a fan of Hello Kitty.
The village was at the atrium plus some displays scattered all over the mall. So we went to each "house" to have Y's picture taken. There were some fun facts about Hello Kitty posted.
I want one of those cakes!!!
Then the BOS asked Y to stand in front of each house for photos. From the photos and blogs that the BOS have read, wala daw harang before and you can inside each house. When we went, may harang na.
Sobrang pa-cute haha! May sakit pa siya nyan!
Y super enjoyed it. She kept saying she saw Hello Kitty but the next day we were at the ER! Wahhh. Glad she was ok a few days after.
One last photo before going home
And little R who was looking cute in his outfit!

Paper Chic Studio Party Planning Worksheet - Beta Version

Hello A&D Readers!

I know I haven't blogged much this month. Paper Chic Studio has kept me busy every night with packing, checking email, and making invoices that I've neglected the blog. Sorry! I've several entries still in my draft folder. I hope I can publish them soon at baka makalimutan ko na ang kwento!

For weeks, I've been working on this party planning worksheet that I can use for R's party and also for sharing with you mommies and also with Paper Chic clients! I really don't have any skills with graphic designing so I did this in MS Word and converted it to PDF. But I promise to improve on this but first, I would like to get your feedback if this worksheet is at all helpful!

These are just images. If you want to try the worksheet, please leave your email and I'll send it to you! Or is there anyway I can attach a file to blog post?

Thank you so much!!!

Separation Anxiety

It's a never ending dilemma. It's an everyday struggle.

Everyday when Y sees me changing into work clothes, she would always say: "Wag na alis Mommy" or "Sama si Yukie?" or "Wag na office si Mommy". Sometimes she would cling onto me and cry like there's no tomorrow and I have to calm her down. I've already talked to her many times that mommy needs to go to work but she doesn't seem want to accept that fact. Bribing doesn't even work (yeah, yeah... I had to do what I had to do).

Sometimes if she wakes up later than usual, I can leave the house without the drama. Or when she's clinging on to me and wouldn't want to let go, I go to the office later. Hay...

All the crying and drama is heart wrenching! Hay...

I wish I can quit work but that plan has to take a backseat for two to three months.

Any tips, mommies?

I love how your Instagram photos can be saved and uploaded right away to Flickr!

And since I haven't uploaded photos from my camera to Flickr yet, I'm using the ones from Instagram muna!

R usually is the first one to wake up in the morning. So that means I have to wake up na din. We usually play in bed muna so I can lie down pa hehe! We go out of the room when he gets bored na.
Then Y wakes up later. Here she is with her bagong gising look. And watching Hi5 videos early in the morning.
Then I cooked breakfast to surprise the BOS. Tamad din kasi ako magluto sa morning.
Then went to the pedia in the afternoon to have R's cough checked. Poor boy!

Pretty Y.
After The Cake Club, we went our separate ways. We bumped into Mommy Fleur and her family! We took Y to Active Fun. Left her there with the yaya for an hour. Shopped a little at the Mothercare Sale then went back to fetch Y and had a little snack at Krispy Kreme before heading home!
It was a great weekend! Hope you had a great one!

Now, I'm ready to face another busy week ahead! Happy Monday!

Ayala Triangle Gardens Light Show

Around two weeks ago, after having a rather disappointing lunch at Greeka Kouzina with my HS best friends and picking up photos at The Picture Company in Power Plant, we headed our way to Ayala Triangle for the light show.

We arrived around 5PM which I thought was too early but turns out just the right time. This was the BOS and the kids' first time to Ayala Triangle kaya siyempre picture picture muna kami.

OOTD: Top from H&M, Floral Leggings from M&S and White Saltwater Sandals (Laureen Uy/Vern Enciso ang peg ng outfit)
Then Y enjoyed the free space, running around and laughing! While killing time, I saw Golden Spoon and I haven't tried it yet so I bought me and Y a cup of ice cream. Read about Golden Spoon here.
After finishing the ice cream, it was still early for the light show so we decided to have an early dinner because I was sure the restaurants will be full by the time the light show started.I wanted to eat at Banapple but they were full and had to wait so we had dinner at Wee Nam Kee instead. The BOS has been wanting to try Wee Nam Kee for the longest time! Read about our experience here.
After dinner, we went out and there were so many people na! I went to find us a nice spot so we can have a view of all the lights. We stood under one of the trees. We had to wait for another 5 minutes before the light show started.
Y kissing R. Sweet!
Y got a little bit scared when smoke came out of the smoking machine but other than that, she enjoyed it! She was mesmerized by the lights! Even our little one was awed. Hihi! The BOS and I enjoyed it too!
From this...
To this!
The little one enjoyed it!
Buti na lang we were there early and ate already because by the time the show finished, traffic na sa parking lot! Everyone's leaving! So while waiting for the cars to leave, we changed the kids into their PJs na para straight to bed na sila! :)
Pssst BOS, we should make this a yearly tradition during Christmas!
