Must-Buy Breastfeeding Essential: Techni Ice

Last week, while I was going through my checklist, I saw that I haven't bought ice packs yet! My achi who's also breastfeeding (clap! clap!) also needs ice packs for when she's out and needs to pump.

All working moms who breastfeed and pump at work know that ice packs are one of the essentials to keep those precious breast milk cool while in the office or while in transit from the office to the house.

After I gave birth to Y, I bought my first Techni Ice from ebay.ph at Php250 for 1 sheet (of 12 small blocks). It served me well but after using and abusing it for about a year, it had tears and I had to to throw them away.

This time, I was supposed to buy again from the same ebay seller, then I remembered Michelle of My Mom Friday blogged about Techni Ice! And so I hopped over to her blog and checked out where she got it from! It was from Techiice.com.ph and then I saw this promo!!! Good thing I didn't because I was buying for achi too.
Buy 3 sheets for Php500 only plus get a mug for free! Shop here!

But note that it will be coming from Cebu. I thought I had it wrong at first pero tama pala. Shipping was Php120. Everything was done online, very easy! Shipping took 2 days.
I was so happy when I opened the package and the ice sheets were bigger than the first ones I bought before! 24 blocks in 1 sheet. Size is about 11x16 inches. Super sulit for Php500 for 3 sheets na! Hurry their promo is until June only!

Mother's Day Feature

Thank You Mommy Fleur for the feature!

Honey Bagoong Chicken Wings

The BOS cooked last Saturday. Yes, he cooked! After bugging him for so long to cook for me, he finally did last Saturday! Yay!

He wanted to cook this since he saw it at pepper.ph. We bought the Thai bagoong weeks ago. We (I was the sous chef) followed the recipe except we used 1 kilo of chicken wings, the marinade was just right amount.

Et voila!
Here's how it looked like minus the burnt ones haha! Verdict? It was so yummy! The combination of honey and bagoong was suprisingly good! I find it weird at first but after having my first bite, sweet and salty! It's so much better than Bonchon! As in! Whoever thought of this is genius! Ok, OA na. LOL!

Try it too and let me know!

Still Yayaless

Yes, still yayaless. There's supposed to be a replacement but she changed her mind a few days before coming to us. Another one is referred but we're still not yet decided. And amma will be back from her 2-month long vacation in HK which means, my extra helper will go back working for amma. Hay... stressed! We're considering getting one from an agency. I'm so not ready to give birth yet!

I need a yaya now na!

Pa-cute Monday!

It was only lately when Y started her pa-cute photos. I thought her so many pa-cute poses.

And this is what she comes up with every time we say "picture!" or "pa-cute!" Sometimes, she would ask me to take her photo or ask her papa to open Photobooth on our Macbook so she can make pa-cute and see herself at the same time!

Ang cute ng anak ko!!! Happy Monday!

Japanese Carinderia: Suzuki Japanese Food House

BOS has been talking about this Japanese carinderia, Suzuki Japanese Food House, for the past few weeks before we ate there. Two weeks ago, while on our way back from the bed maker, we decided to stop by and check what's the fuss all about.

From what the BOS read from other blogs, the chef is a retired Japanese chef who married a Filipina. He wasn't there when we went there though.

It was a bit hard to find because there's no sign board. I just saw the "menu" hanging outside this carinderia!
But it's actually on the corner of Hermosa and Clemente Sts! And the landmark is this groto(?). This is in Tondo, by the way.
Here's a photo of the carinderia. This was an impromptu so photos from iPhone only.
The BOS and I were just saying that it's been a long time since we ate and hung out in a carinderia. Mine was from college days pa!

They have a menu hung outside and they also have a laminated menu with pictures.

Here's the kitchen. You can actually see how they prepare the food. I think it's clean naman. Or pikit-mata ka na lang! Hehe..
This lovely lady took our order!
We had our food to go and ate it at home. Here's what we ordered:

Mixed Tempura. 2pcs Ebi Tempura and lots of mixed veggie Tempura for Php150. Yummy!!!

Gyoza (5pcs) Php45 and Tonkatsu Php80. The tonkatsu was gooooddd!

Ramen Php80
Everything was good except for the ramen. Ramen tastes like normal noodles, parang lomi. Hehe But sulit na din diba? Our bill was Php345 for everything. It tastes homemade which we liked very much!

We'll definitely go back again!

Shoe Lust

Here we go... again.

I've always thought I'm a bag lady. But these days, I'm more drawn to shoes!

Shoes I've been eyeing:

Anthology Hudsons. Still don't know which color I want!

New Anthology Beas! I want the Yellow/Tan or Beige/Black! Argh!
Tita K, you got me high on shoes!!!

Gold Dot Tribal Flats. I think this is sold out. I hope they'll make more! I want these!!!
Le Sigh!

Images from Anthology and Gold Dot websites.

Peg!

Patty and I have been exchanging tweets about getting a perm. I'll have to wait til December. Why December? I'll be breastfeeding and I want to wait six months after I give birth and breastfeeding before getting my hair treated again.

Then my friend Grace got her hair permed at Azta Salon. I'm green with envy! It's okay, I'm still growing my hair out!

And while reading Perez Hilton, I saw this photo of Kate Beckinsale! Yan ang peg ko for my hair! Sana ma-achieve!

Bow!

In the Dark

Back to blogging after 12 days of no DSL. PLDT sucks!

Miss me? Hope you do! I got lots of entries in my draft folder! :) I never thought I'd miss blogging but I did!

Happy Mother's Day!

May 23, 2012
Supposed to post this on Mother's Day but our DSL broke down.. still posting it!

Two years into motherhood, my husband says I'm great (kisses to BOS!) but I think I'm still a work-in-progress! And in four weeks, I'll be giving birth again. Mommy times two! Can't wait! :)

To my mom, we may not see eye to eye all the time, I may not be big on words, and I know I've been a bad daughter in the past, but you have been there for me no matter what and never gave up on me. I love you, Mommy! Happy Mother's Day!

To my sisters, Happy Mother's Day to us! Can't believe we're all mommies now!
And of course, Happy Mother's Day to every mom, mom-to-be, grandma, and great grandma out there! :)

We'll be spending Mother's Day at our grandaunt's. Hope you'll have a great one too!

Preparing for "The Day"

The bigger I get, the lazier I am to move. I can't wait to give birth! We got 5 weeks to go, 8 more lessons to go on my Baby Plus (will do a review soon!). There are still a few things that still needs to be cross out from my list.

First, I gave my fairly new crib to my best friend who's due to give birth anytime. Don't panic! We'll be using Y's old Graco playard for the little guy. I had a new foam/mattress made for the playard. We had a bed made for Y, I don't know if she'll sleep in it on her own in her room or am I ready yet to not co-sleep with her.

Second, a new chest drawer for the little guy's clothes. We'll have one made too, I think. Sana umabot. Or else, I don't know where to put his clothes! The kids' room is a mess! I'll have his clothes washed in June.

Third, schedule my maternity photoshoot! It may not look it, I don't take weekly photos of my belly bump but I like to keep a memory of what I look like while pregnant. Plus it will be a family shoot too!

Fourth, prepare my hospital bag! I need to find my old hospital bag list. I've already organized papers that I need to bring to the hospital (marriage contract, laboratory results, Philhealth, SSS, etc.)

Fifth, I really don't know how I'll manage when the baby comes. How do I divide my attention to 2 kids? I'm afraid I'll go crazy. Haha! I don't know how Y will be or react once the baby is in the house. She's very protective of me! Baka she'll get mad when I breastfeed her shoti. Waah! We tell her that she's going to be an achi and the baby inside my tummy is her shoti. She rubs my tummy (more like my belly button, then she'll laugh) and kiss it too. I really hope they get along! Both have strong Chinese zodiac pa naman, a tiger and a dragon!

I really don't know if this entry makes any sense. But I'm anxious and excited to meet the little guy. I just don't know what will happen after!

Cuteness Overload

My sister and my very cute inaanak nephew spent 4 days in Manila last week! Y got to bond with her cousin G. They're so cute together. They're 6 months apart but size wise, parang the same lang haha!

At our house, play time!
Then we went to achi's place before going to Expo Mom last Saturday. G was dressed up in a very cute preppy outfit! Had to take photos of them together!
Ang cute nila noh? Hoping for more weekends like this! Out of town naman next time!
