Got Nothing To Blog

Still on bed rest. I'm having tv series marathons everyday. Movies too. I'm bored. And i hope i don't get fat for always lying down. Lol!

Will return to blogging real soon! Giveaways too!

If I could only have one… {A meme}

I was tagged by Martine! This should be fun!

IF YOU COULD ONLY HAVE ONE_______ FOR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

1. City to live in…
I'd love to live in Hong Kong. We always go back and forth since we were kids. My parents grew up there and I always loved the summers and vacations we spent there. I'd love to live there when I have the chance. I love the food, commute is so convenient, plus I get to shop! Haha! They got Disneyland and Ocean Park for Y and my baby #2!

2. Place to vacation at…
Europe! Food, culture, history, designer bags... I haven't been there and hubby haven't been there too. I'd love to spend a long vacation with my hubby in a romantic place like Paris!

3. Color to wear…
I can't choose only one! I'd wear black, white, gray! I like to stick with the  basic.

4. Celebrity crush…
It's none other than...

Adam Levine! He can sing, moves like Jagger, sexy pa! LOL!

5. Dessert to eat…

Chocolate Cake. Super moist chocolate cake!!! Yum yum yum...

6. Book to read…
Harry Potter! I tried reading Lord of the Rings, but na-nosebleed ako haha!

7. Movie to watch…
She's The Man. A rather shallow chick flick but it makes me laugh, I like Amanda Bynes and this movie takes away whatever I'm thinking or worrying about. Though I like Sci-Fi, action and suspense movies, sometimes I like to watch movies that I don't need to analyze, thus shallow haha!

8. Celeb character as a roommate..
Who else?! Carrie Bradshaw

9. Type of food to eat:

Sinigang or Tom Yum Goong! I love sour soup and a little spicy to have some kick!
10. TV show:

Friends! I got ten season on my iPod. I can watch it over and over again!

That's it! I'm tagging Grace to do this!

Hi-Precision Diagnostics

I had my transvaginal ultrasound and urinalysis done the other day. I go here because it's near my office. But what I love about Hi-Precision is that I can check the results online! No need to go back and pick up my results. Just log-on to their site, et voila!

Plus I got my TVU results agad! Not so good news about my ultrasound though. But that's another blog entry.

I'm on Bed Rest!

Here's the not so good news from my ultrasound... I have subchronic hemorrhage. Boo! I didn't have this with my first pregnancy. My OB has advised me to bed rest for a week, take meds, and hopefully on my next checkup, I'll be hemorrhage-free!

This sucks. I don't think I can rest well at home when you have a very cute toddler who wants to be carried, played with, all the time. :( But I also have to think about baby#2, I've been feeling tired the past few days. I need the rest. Though not a good timing with my work as I was about to start doing QA for another client. I'm glad that my supervisors were understanding and didn't make me take home any work! WHEW!

So now I'm off to download TV series for that one week of bed rest!

Pregnant and Weaning Woes

Yes, I'm pregnant! :) Totally unplanned and unexpected, but we couldn't be more happier! :)

Morning sickness kicked in a day after we found out I'm pregnant. I was starting to feel nauseated days before but I brushed it off, thinking I was about to get sick, but I wasn't. Now, I don't have any appetite for anything. Sometimes just the thought of food makes me nauseated. Ugh. I feel bloated all the time. I'm always sleepy. I hate morning sickness. :(

My daily-must fix of milk tea and coffee, surprisingly, went away on its own. I don't need my coffee fix in the morning or my milk tea fix in the afternoon. One thing I noticed though is my craving for soy sauce and wasabi, same with when I was pregnant with Y. I'm looking forward to what I'll be craving this time around. :)

While we're happy about this new addition, my dilemma now is breastfeeding Y. I know I want to tandem nurse eventually. I stopped pumping last week. Though it's liberating, I'm a bit sad! My OB advised me to wean Y already. I'm still reading on  breastfeeding Y while I'm pregnant. It's possible. But I'm worried. I had pre-term labor when I was around 5.5 months pregnant with Y, and I read it's not SAFE to breastfeed. I'm not ready to wean Y yet! Hay... I feel sad just thinking about it. I don't think is ready yet...
Y doesn't drink much BM during the day, she doesn't like Pediasure, she eats alot though. I'm thinking of switching to fresh milk.

Back to happy thoughts, we're hoping and wishing for a BOY! I wished to have a baby by the time I'm 27, I gave birth to Y when I was 26. But I never thought I'd have 2 kids before turning 30. Happy happy joy joy!

My Cutie Patootie!

A random Sunday. I dressed her up and fixed her hair. A few minutes later with her papa, and this is what happened!!! Hahaha. And she didn't mind at all.

Cute Shoes!!!

Bought this today on sale at Florsheim Kids. I've been wanting to buy this for the longest time! Good thing I waited! Sooo Marc Jacob-esque!

My Constant Challenge with Extending Breastfeeding

"Welcome to the Milk Mama Diaries Carnival (November). For this month, participants share their experiences on extended breastfeeding.  This includes tips to moms with young babies, as well as barriers and myths which discourage extended nursing. Please scroll down to the end of this post and check out the other carnival participants."

This month marks our 14th month of breastfeeding. I have no plans on weaning nor Y showing any signs of weaning yet. We want to continue for as long as Y wants to (or when I get pregnant again). It's the perfect setting in our home.

But it's not all perfect outside our home. I've blogged about my breastfeeding woes here and here. It's more frustrating now that Y's bigger. I get reprimanded (at home by my grandma) every time I lift my shirt and feed Y. Saying things like: Stop breastfeeding, she's big already. Give her formula, your milk is not nutritious enough, look at her, she's so tiny! You're not eating healthy, how do you expect Y to get fat if your milk doesn't have enough nutrients? And it goes on and on.... I never got the support I needed from them but that didn't stop me.

Breastfeeding a 14th month-old is a challenge, especially in public. I wasn't successful in teaching Y baby signing milk, so whenever she wants to nurse, it's either she'll pull up my shirt, pull my shirt on the neck or put her hands inside my shirt. Nursing covers are a no-no for her, plus she gets distracted at the sound of anything, phones ringing, birds chirping...  but other than that, breastfeeding is easy breezy.

Breastfeeding greatly helped my relationship and bond with my daughter. I'm a working mom, I'm only with her 12/5 (on weekdays), 24/2 (on weekends). It sucks but this momma gotta work. Before I went back to work (after giving birth), I was already preparing myself on how my relationship with Y would be. I would often hear from other moms that their son/daughter wants and looks for their yaya more than their mothers, that breaks my heart but I had to be prepared of that. But that never happened with me. She's always with her yaya yet Y prefers me more than her, she's a mommy's girl. It amazes me.

I wish it's easy to explain (to my family) why I'm continuing to breastfeed Y, it's a constant argument in the house. I wish giving them handouts about breastfeeding would help or at least convince them a bit. It's funny how my yaya and helper knows a lot on breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is so convenient. It's the fastest booboo fixer. Plus it has tons of benefits. Read here.

We want to continue breastfeeding for as long as Y wants to. No pressure on weaning. I love the bond I have with my daughter because of breastfeeding. There are days when I wish I could stop pumping or stop breastfeeding but I just think about it's health benefits for Y and me and I'm good again.
