Korean BFFs!

Hi Apples & Dumplings readers (if there's any),

I want to you to meet my two Korean friends. A boy and a girl. I met them when I was four months old. They always make me smile and laugh, that's why I love them! I make sure to visit them every morning when I wake up and have play time with them in the afternoon.

Meet my friends!

Koreana & Koreano

My mommy and papa found it funny and cute but thought I should play with real friends.

Play date, anyone?

Love,
Y

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: The New Transformers Girl

I don't have a lot of guy crushes. It's Adam Levine of Maroon5 only. But I've got a lot of girl crushes! Most of them are Victoria's Secret Angels. This is a nonsense post (aminado!), but I've been seeing Rosie Huntington-Whiteley pictures lately, it's Transformers 3 premiere after all.

This girl is smoking HOT!

She's oozing with sex appeal! And those lips! Haha.. (BOS, I'm not gay. I just have a lot of girl crushes!)

Next to Miranda Kerr, Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima.. Ikaw na!

My Almost Stranded Story

It's another rainy long weekend! It's been raining all week long, full forced rain last Thursday because of the typhoon Falcon. I almost got stranded in the office because the street in front of our office building was flooded! I parked outside that day and way farther than my usual parking space, that made me doubly worried. Our other car got Ondoyed, I don't want it to happen again!

My time-out is 6:21PM that day. But when I went down, a lot of people were just standing outside. Stranded. I don't want to risk driving and getting stuck in traffic for long hours, so I decided to go back to the office. I charged my phone, called home to check on Y, called the BOS to check where he is. I was going back and forth to the window of our office to check on traffic and the flood. It was slow moving. Rain was erratic. Wind was strong. I had nothing else to do. I was on Twitter to check on MMDA updates. Many were stuck in traffic, turned around, took long hours before getting to their destination/home. The BOS got home around 7:30PM. I was still in the office. He said he'll come to fetch me, he's going to commute.

He arrived 9PM, I went down. He walked in the flood to get to the car. Yeah he did. I won't dare do that. Haha.. He parked it near the sidewalk so I won't have to walk in the flood. But it's still traffic! Taft was a haywire. No one dare to pass thru NBI/PGH Area. We braved that area, turned right on Padre Faura - there was no FLOOD or TRAFFIC. Woohooo... we passed Roxas Blvd, Anda Circle, North Harbor Port Area, no traffic at all! We got home in less than an hour. It's a good thing the BOS came and fetched me. My hero!

It's still raining now, but the sky is clearer. Stay safe and dry everyone!

Dressing Y Up!

It was a long weekend last weekend. Enjoyed it with my family staying home, enjoying the cool and rainy weather!

I was checking Y's clothes stash, ones that were gifted and haven't used yet. I put them on different zip locks arranged by their sizes (9 to 12 months, 12 to 18 months, and so on). I check them once a month to take out clothes that can fit Y already. At the same time I also check clothes that don't fit her anymore so I can keep them and make space for her drawer.

I took out some dresses and I found the Cotton On Ballerina dress/costume which was given to Y by one of my college barkada, Auntie S and Uncle F. I think it fits her already so we (yaya and me) on her, plus the Baby Gap shoesies that the BOS bought during Christmas! Her yaya said to put a headband.

So here she is... my life-sized doll! LOL!
Then the other day, we visited her Amma and some relatives who's here on a vacation. We dressed her up too! It's the first time she wore leggings. So cute! Bought them on sale in Gingersnaps!

So cute! I had fun dressing her up but she was getting irritated by the end. LOL! But nonetheless, I love the perks of having a baby girl! Magastos nga lang when she learns to love clothes, shoes, and shopping! Her face lights up when I open my closet, and mind you, I have a small closet and my clothes are normal. Haha! Matagal pa naman yun. For the mean time, I'll enjoy dressing you up!

Happy Father's Day!

Two days late post! Haha.. So much going on in the house plus I'm always on Twitter on my Iphone. The BOS has taken over my Mac playing games on FB LOL!

It's the BOS's first Father's Day! Well, we spent it at home. Maybe we'll celebrate this coming week. We haven't celebrated our third anniversary even. I told you, so much going on in the house!

I just want to say Happy Father's Day to the best papa to Y! We love you!

Ang Senior Citizen

I just have to repost this. It's from my friend's blog! Haha! Funny for me, baka macornihan kayo.. FYI: Her store sells fertilizers and what nots for farming.

May manong na bumili ng chemicals. Tinanong sa tindera ko bat daw hindi namin ino-honor ang Senior Citizen card.
At the back, eto mga nakasulat. I explain while I read each and every bullet in his Senior Citizen Card.
1) 20% on all medicines..
Sabi ko: Manong, wala naman kaming bentang gamot. Pesticides ang benta namin.

Sabi ko: Manong, hindi naman kami hotel.
3) 20% on cinemas, theater halls, etc..
Sabi ko: Manong, hindi naman kami sinehan.
4) 20% on restaurants, etc..
Sabi ko: Manong, hindi naman kami restaurant.

Sabi ko: Manong, mas lalong hindi naman kami punenarya.
Kalurkey tong si manong! :D

Thin in 7 Months

Possible? My shobe called me up yesterday afternoon. There was no "Hello", first thing she said was "Magpapayat ka na!" LOL!

She's getting married (in church) next year January and I'm the Matron of Honor (ugh, sounds so old! haha) Y will be a flower girl (proud momma!)!  So I need to lose weight! I don't want to look like a whale in a gown. Yes I'm vain! So can I lose weight and be thin in seven months? It's possible but I don't know if I can. Haha! Good luck to me!

3-Week Challenge and Dilemma

Why three-week challenge? It's not a blog challenge.

Our long time helper will be going home to province for three weeks after not going for three years. My challenge? How will I be able to cook dinner every night after I get home? Baka 10PM na kami kumain non! I still don't know how will I schedule everything! Shall I cook in the morning? or at night?

Another worry of mine is Y and her yaya will be left alone in the house. Yes, I have a nanny cam but I'm still not calm about this situation. What will yaya eat during lunch? Eat canned goods? Kawawa naman. I know it's convenient but it's not healthy.

Should I just bring Y to work with me? This would be convenient but I have long work hours! Y needs to nap at least twice. She sleeps around 630PM and around that time I'm still at the office. And I don't think she can sleep here in the office. Too many people, too many sight for her to see. I don't think I'll be able to work. She has separation anxiety and wants me around her all the time.

What would I cook for that three weeks? I only get to cook on weekends. And I don't know many dishes. Simple ones lang. And I don't know how to chop a chicken. LOL!

Oh I don't know! Our labandera is going home too! I need to find a decent laundry service near our house!

It's not easy to be a mommy/wife/homemaker! ayayaya.. Challenge starts tomorrow!

Happy Weekend!

I'm enjoying Twitter so much (follow me!) I'm starting to neglect my blog! Currently signed up to Pinterest and Instagram as well! It's addicting.

We're yaya-less this weekend, so it's QT time for me and the BOS. But Y has coughs and colds. I think she got it from me.

It's gonna be our 3rd year anniversary on Sunday! Whooot!

That's all for now!

Happy Weekend!

A Great Weekend It Was!

We were all looking forward for last weekend because Shobe and little G were sleeping over at my parent's house. I'm so glad we moved back here (we live in the same village).

It was a slow Saturday. We were just waiting for them to arrive. BOS didn't go to work because there was something going on in our house. Putting of something. I asked him to stay home because I can't watch the men working and having quality time with Y at the same time.
Playing in her room on her play matWith the men working in our house and a construction work in front of our house, Y can't get a decent nap! Ayayay... when she woke from her nap. I asked yaya to give her afternoon bath so they can go to my parent's house and wait there.
At around 4PM, they finally arrived! My little nephew's so big! He's three months old but heavier than Y! Haha.. Can't compare because he's formula fed. But OMG, he's the cutest! Doesn't look Chinese at all! Si Y, unang tingin pa lang super Chinese na!
Gwapito!
At around 6PM, we had to go home because Y's sleepy na. We didn't sleep over because there's no more room! And besides, Y won't sleep for sure. Masyadong chismosa and curious si Y! We just went back there the following morning!

Supladang bata c Y! She won't make pansin her cousin. She won't even look. She doesn't care that I was carrying G! Haha.. It's funny and cute! We took turns carrying G. My yaya was also excited to carry G that she was the one who fed him. Shobe has no yaya. Sadly, they had to go early. They have to go back to the province.
When they left, we also went home because it was Y's meal time na. After her meal, we went down again because we're having lunch naman at Amma's house (yes, we all live in one village).
Y also ate pa! Rice rolls and banana. My achi was playing with her, and squeezing her. Cute.
While having lunch, I said I want to take Y out but I don't know where. I suggested Greenbelt 5! So after Y's afternoon nap and bath, we went out!
While my mom and sister were shopping. Me, BOS and I went shopping on our own. We went to Toys R Us and bought Y a toy! :) The only toys I bought her were her toy keys and Mr. Sun. But since she's in the hitting/slapping phase, I want to buy her something that she can hit on and make a sound! We bought her a xylophone!

After shopping, we had early dinner at Toast Box! I had Nasi Goreng and Horlicks while BOS had their Laksa and Milk Tea. Sorry no pictures because I was also feeding Y that time. While I was eating, Y was getting bored na and I was running out of "toys" for her to play, so I gave her the cucumber on my plate (see picture above). I know food are not toys... sorry.

After Toast Box and a few more store stops, we went home.

It was a great weekend. Hope we get to see the little man more often but he's in the province. :( Maybe we can pay them a visit on one of the coming long weekends!

Y is 9 Months!

Happy 9 Months Bulilit!!!!

Tweet Tweet!

I'm finally joining the Twitter bandwagon! I took over BOS's twitter since he's not using it anymore.

Breastfeeding Ad (on the Back of a Bus)

I saw this breastfeeding ad this morning while driving to work. I had to take a picture. (May reflection nga lang ng parking ticket, sorry!)
"INAY, hindi hayop ang anak mo! Kaya pasusuhin si baby ng GATAS NG INA lamang."

The Satchel Brouhaha

It all started with the Mulberry Alexa (for me, at least). For me this is the satchel of all satchels! I'm still lusting on this bag. My shobe has one. I'm inggit! LOL! It's a perfect casual everyday bag. I like it's slouchy, I like the hardware, basta I like it!

Then, I saw the PS1 on my achi. It's super nice also!
Then came the Cambridge Satchel fever! I knew about Cambridge Satchel way before it became famous and available here in Manila because of this fashion blog I was reading. I find it boxy but the colors are super nice! I think it will make a nice laptop bag for my Macbook and it's not as pricey as the Alexa or the PS1.
But since I can't afford the bags mentioned above, I opted for a Topshop Satchel! Which reminds me that I should use it more. It's not as roomy as I would like it to be kasi! I bought the grey one but I still want a brown/tan satchel so the search continues...

Frances recently revealed her bespoke handmade leather satchel (also here). It's super nice! Love the color! But I want it in a bigger size. It's totally and locally handmade! I can't wait to see more colors and other sizes. No price yet for the bags.

And then, I made another discovery. I don't know how I knew about School of Satchel, but this is very similar to the Cambridge Satchel from the looks of it. A great alternative to the Cambridge, in my opinion. They currently have four colors only and I like the navy one!
My favorite online stores have their own version of the satchel. Topshop and Charles & Keith also have satchels in their collection.

Satchels are everywhere! It's like the oxfords/brogues fad! I'm still looking for the "one" satchel. But with all these brouhaha, my heart still longs for an Alexa!
